Alright, the cops finally got me. And I managed to do quite a good job of getting myself in trouble.

I was cruising back from work when some guy comes flying up behind me. I was in the left lane and there was a pretty steady bunch of slow traffic on the right. He obviously wanted to pass me so I punched the gas. Even after I passed the traffic the guy was still right behind me. I kept pushing hard and he started to fall behind a bit. That's when I saw two headlights light up off the side of the road out of the corner of my eye and I knew I was in trouble.

Second mistake: I didn't slow down. There was an exit coming up over a hill and the officer was having trouble merging into traffic. I knew that if I took the exit, I would be gone before the officer caught up. Problem is... I missed the exit. Slower traffic was up ahead so I slowed down and accepted my fate.

The officer catches up after a short while and puts on the lights, and I pull over. I put on my hazard lights, roll down all the windows (except for that damn drivers-side rear that decided to act up again!), turn on the interior lights, shut off the engine and put my hands on the wheel.

The officer walks up, shines the flashlight in my face and tells me to get out of the car. I step out and he asks me questions while my girlfriend digs out my registration. He then searches me and asks me what the hell I was doing.

I explained that honestly, some guy had come up behind me going really fast so I sped up. The officer says, "So you wanted to show off who had the better car huh?!" and I say "Pretty much, Officer."

So I get back in the car and he runs my license and comes back with the damage.

103 mph in a 55, and an Unsafe Lane Change violation.

This is going to hurt.

The most I was ever doing was 16 over the speed limit. 81 in a 65. Reduced it on site for me. I paid $290 for that ticket.

Thats a 9 point charge + 3 more for the lane shift. Even if you get it reduced a little bit your going to be hurting worse on your insurance than your ticket. Take Defensive Driving as soon as the ticket goes through. That will take 4(3?) points off.

I have passive aggressive issues with people that are dicks on the road.

Your swerving wildly in heavy traffic, Your staying in the lane you know is closed up ahead just to get a couple cars ahead?
Fuck You your getting cut off.
Tailgating me, while I'm already over the speedlimit, passing someone none the less?
I'm going to park my ass in the left lane going 55 like the guy next to me.

I guess that kinda makes me into a dick in the end, I can stand the hypocrisy.

I just remembered that electro lived in NY. Also, If you have over 10 points, you pay the dmv $250 for the next three years. So tack on another $750 charge.

It's probably a good thing he didn't find the dead hooker in the trunk, because I don't even know how many points that is.

OneManArmy
2007-06-24, 01:28 AM
pretty sure thats enough points to suspend 3 licenses...

you know, thats why I loved that one Mustang commercial where the guy imports a mustang to germany and they ask him if he couldn't find a car he liked here and he said "no, I couldn't find a road I liked over there"

fuck Americans and their shitty driving and their shitty roads.

Wups.

You let your Ego bit you in the ass.

Fuck that, my ego had nothing to do with it. I wanted to have some fun, and I did. The only problem was that it was illegal and I got busted. Simple as that.

What road were driving exactly? It couldn't be a highway because you said 55mph.

I've never been pulled over, and I'm not exactly a laid back driver, I top out my meager 85 mph speedo (going to get a new one eventually) just to warm up.

Course I live less than an hour away from a race track, so I can go there if I want.

I'm a dickhead in general when I drive, and I apply the rule "Offensive driving is the best defensive driving".

So if some guy is honking a horn at me because a light turned green .3 seconds ago and I haven't started moving yet, he's going to be stuck behind a car thats going 2 to 3 miles an hour for the next block or two.

I have no problem cutting of dickheads that don't know how to drive, and I loathe people that can't use turn signals, but expect you to know what they're doing anyway.

The worst I've gotten : 95 in a school zone, and an illegal left turn.

Ouch that is gonna be a bitch. Only thing I got caught for was a 67 in a 50 cause I was rushing to pickup my tux before it closed and that was with my lil 97 CRV lol. Just recently got my new car, an 04 Grand Prix GT2 with a 3.8 engine so ive been driving like a madman alot lol. Scared the shit outta my friends when I was going bout 90 and went to pass someone up and stayed in the opposite lane, pretty much scared the fuck outta the other car too as they were half off road lol. But in general im a decent driver and when people try to pass me when im already going 5 over i either speed wayy up so they cant or if they cant pass me but tailgate me then I slow wayyyy down just to be a super dick.

What I love doing is going so slow it makes them get in the right lane, then speed up. The next car you see in the right lane will kinda hold him in. Then I'll hang back a lil bit makin him think he has hope to get passed me but I'm just too close to that car in front of him.

I love driving

Go take a defensive driving course like Peace said. I'll be printing out your CRTABSTR and your LICSUSP probably this week sometime.

Lol. Way to be passive agressive about it sent :P

I drive too fast in my car. The only car I dont drive fast in is my Jeep. Hence its going to be my primary ride. 8 inch lift + 33' tires means I ride high and 55 feels like 80. Ive gotten a few tickets, Ive gotten off them all though. I know too many people -_- I think Ive had 3 since I started driving, 2 in the first year. No DIWI or similar, although I did get a road side special from a cop when he saw me vomiting on the side of the road.... I had food poisoning though.

I never see any cops when I am in Canada

Sucks EF :\

The only speeding ticket I ever got was in upstate NY in a place called Chateaugay small tiny little village with one cop in town, got busted doing 80 in a 55.. there wasn't anyone around and the cop was going in the other direction and did a U turn to get some action  Saw the out of state plates I'm sure considering everyone else does at least 70 around there.

You just think you don't see them, but they are there. We've got some crazy ghost cars. I swear I see more ghost cars on the road than patrol cars. They are easy to spot if you look at the driver and not the vehicle, usually they will be uniformed, and there will be a grate separating the front and back seating area.

The cop did not switch on his lightbar when he pulled out. He only turned them on when he caught up with me, at which point I had already slowed down. I then activated my hazard lights, pulled onto the shoulder of the road, rolled down all of my windows, turned on my interior lights, placed my hands on the wheel, shut off the engine, and had my license and registration ready.

This was not a chase. :p

I was looking to disappear while the officer couldn't see me, big difference! :p

Yes OMA, it's got the HEMI. Puts out about 350 hp and 400 lb/ft of torque right now, is AWD, and can run a 13.9 second 1/4 mile. But you're right... you can't outrun the radio.

Anyhow, one way or another the ticket will end up costing me. If my license is suspended I'll just have to ride into work with my girlfriend... and trust me, being in the car with her driving is punishment enough!
