I fucking hate restaurants. Why? I ordered a club sandwich last night... oh I got it! But the chicken was undercooked.

So here I am... vomiting over and over again... I litteraly have a bucket next to me and when the urge strikes me I empty my stomach.... thing is... I've emptied it like 5 times in a row.

So you know what? Fuck you "Deli Chenoys" FUCK YOU!

Sue them!

I fucking hate Dunkin Donuts and their fucking inability to give me a consistant cup of coffee from day to day. It's always fucked up in one way or another - is it really that hard?

Tim Hortons ftw... I need to start a franchise.

Dude, Why would you continue eating it if you could tell it was undercooked?

And second, raw meat is good for you, it puts hair on your chest.

Where I live there's a Tim Horton's on every single block. They're putting all the other doughnut, coffee places out of business.

I hate working at a restaurant. Yesterday someone complained that our "Crispy Fried Catfish" was too crispy. I've had people castrate me over 15 percent discounts that got added to the wrong 5.99 tab, as well as people send back coffee three separate times because it isn't hot enough, despite the fact that I just finished brewing a fresh batch.

Honestly, before I started working in one, I had no idea how ridiculous some people can be.

The Timmy Ho's near my sucks total balls, they have the worst selection of doughnuts ever, and if I ever get an icecapp, the machine is broken and it's not mixed properly or has wrong portions making it end up tasting like ass.

Yeah its an eye opener isn't it.

People yell over some of the weirdest things, and you're just like "Are you really yelling at me because of that"

Yeah. Today a 12 year old bitched me out over not having enough salsa for her salad. I also had a guy practically threaten me with death for not giving him his salad quick enough. And the fact that people honestly have the nerve to send back a steak 3 times is simply dumbfounding to me. I've never done anything of the sort, and I am still trying to figure out how some people have no problem doing things like this.

I'm always nice to waiters/waitresses etc because at the end of the day, I really don't know what I'm eating.

We've got a bazillion Tim Hortons here too. Within a 5 mile radius we've got at least 5 of them. I think the Canadians are trying to invade us through Tim Hortons.

One time I went to an Indian Reservation so my girlfriend of the time and her cousin could buy some cheap cigarettes... we were hungry so we stopped at a restaurant on the reservation. My girlfriend's cousin got served some chicken that was completely raw on the inside, and the outside of the fillet was only cooked just enough that it looked edible. It wasn't like she'd asked for it still clucking either. We just got up and left... we weren't particularly in the mood for food poisoning.

Nope I'm from canada. I wouldn't waste good money on a suit either... after all I ate the whole thing... if I got really sick instead (salmonella or whatever) of just barfing up for half a day and feeling shitty the rest of it... I might have done something about it.

But honestly... I just won't eat there anymore.

Haha. Well I can't speak for everyone, but in all actuality I have yet to witness anyone of my coworkers do anything to a customer's food. Sure we'll steam and curse and bitch about people when we're in the break room or kitchen, but I've never seen anyone spit or do anything like that.

We do little things, like use decaf, or heavy whipping cream, or generally screw around with orders.

Orange doesn't really taste good with anything , we've found. We use this knowledge well.

Kikinchikin
2007-07-05, 01:49 PM
I mean, if there's no regular coffee left and the decaf is sitting there piping hot, do you think I'm going to brew more up?

Kikinchikin

Because generally I'm busy and I don't get paid any extra to brew coffee. It also takes about 5 minutes for the machine to work, which usually pisses the customer off because of the wait. Whereas, if I substitute decaf in, they get coffee that tastes the same and I don't catch shit for it taking too long. Hell the caffeine is mostly placebo effect anyway.

Nah, most people are just happy to get hot coffee, since it's cold usually.

Nope, my restaurant is pretty much cheap. Our new policy is if we ring in something and the customer doesn't want it anymore we have to separate it on the check and try to resell it later on. If we can't we gotta pay for it sometimes.

Giovanni

That's got to be against work/health code.

No no I don't mean we take the same physical drinks that were with other people, only the price on their tab. Essentially I have a random drink floating on my account until I can move it to another table.

Giovanni
2007-07-09, 11:47 PM
So basically you give people something on their check that they didn't pay for?

no, he tries to be a salesman and gets them to buy an extra drink or perhaps go for dessert.

though that other ways not a bad idea. hehehe....

but seriously back on topic, canada sucks.

Why wouldn't you?

It takes 4 minutes to brew a pot of coffee at starbucks, and company rules say we aren't allowed to serve coffee in the middle of the brewing cycle.

People hate waiting. Like seriously.

Not to mention, 9 out of 10 people can't tell the difference. The other one, I just lie too.

I'm currently working in a wendies. Franchised also. Man is that confusing. I try and try to imagine some of them must be acting in a mature manner. but I"m just deluding myself and banging my head against a wall. When i realize they are all completely stupid and have those half carnival lives do I realize what a sane veiw on life is again. unfortunatly is takes me to long and doesn't last long enough for me to think out what I want to do about finding a nice new job. And that only really involves anything that doesn't take away my hours when I'm lucky to be making 600 a month on good months. This place is odd. You have to work with them for too long and you fall intoa coma and can't think clearly for a day or two trying to regain your dang perspective on life again. And to boot they think they are normal and are doing they're jobs well.

So i go back and forth about seeing it as the customers or the weirdos I work for. Society is filled witha little impatients but that's where the managers come from that run thsese places. So it's both sides. Wether the problems from those issues collide in any way or not.

So it could be the managers being money grubby lazy bastard holding on to a job they can't do for hte money and the employees not being trained. Time hortons is more like fast food from the looks. I don't know how you can have managers who can acutally be managers(as unlikely as that is) and not have staff completely knowledgable and capable of doing their jobs.

To get back to the original tone of the thread... You should have asked them for escargo. Then if they undercooked it it wouldn't have mattered!

(Or does it?! Well if it did you would have likely known it was safe because by time they get it to you the undercooked ones would have likely left the plate.)
