Censorship always gets less and less over time but to think of the amount of censorship still around, in the U.S. is pathetic. Check out this timeline. It is pretty cool.

So what exactly is pathetic about the US? Most of that stuff happened at time when people actually had morals and kids bringing guns to school was unheard of. As for the latter videos, you saw what the muslims did over the cartoon in Europe. Does the most-watched event on TV really need to be a titty fest? Of course I wouldn't mind. But there needs to be standards. Kids do more learning from the trash we call TV than from their parents these days. And I don't condone censorship, but in times like these there needs to be someone looking out.

That is an absolutely ridiculous statement.
Your set of morals and someone else's can be completely different, but neither is necessarily going to be better. They are nearly always subjective, inconsistent and hypocritical, and a poor basis for good and bad.

My morales tell me parents need to be the ones that censor TV for their children, not society as a whole.
Are they right? Maybe, maybe not.

Of course people in the 50's had better morals than we do today. I can't believe we let black people sit at the front of the bus.

I think it's odd if the real reason was they thought pregnancy was sinful. I thought ricky and lucy were married at the time. They certainly were in real life weren't they? No part of any religion I know of especially christianity refers to pregnancy in itself bieng sinful that I've ever heard. I thought it was the opposite if you were married.

Exactly. It's high time the government stopped pretending like it can decide what's acceptable for people. This isn't communist Russia. (or is it?)
