Free PS3 woo!

Thanks to my job I got myself a free PS3 with two games bundled with it.

Basically the more Sharp televisions I sell... the more points I get. Those points can be used to buy anything from a clock to a freaking Jet-ski.

Little question thought... I have an LG HDTV... it's not full HD will I really lose so much quality? Even if I am plugged with the HDMI cable?

I know there's a difference between both resolution levels. But is it really that noticeable?

Congrats man. I won a free 360 a while back through Pepsi's Be First To Play. And I dont think you should have a problem as far as quality goes. If you have a standard HDTV, that means that it out-puts in 720p/108i. True HD is 1080p. It doesnt make a huge difference simply because most developers are only making games for 720p/1080i. So, no you wont be really missing anything at all. I suggest using 720p over 1080i though ( you cna switch between the two in the PS3's settings) because it usually gives a better image.

My work place decided to try giving rewards for work, but they chose a wii as the prize and they couldn't get their hands on one, so that idea got shot down.

Maybe the PS3's were too expensive to be used as prize fodder?

Yeah I knew the difference for the resolution. After all I sell the darn things for a living :p.

What I was wondering was if the game actually used the full HD potential... you awnsered that one too so eh! Thanks!

Ah and I can think of plenty of games to play on the PS3, with even more of them coming out too... and no need to worry about the red ring of death.

Haha, I have already had one of those. I am so tempted to sell my 360 and games for a PS3. The kiddies on Live are so immature. Plus I want a bunch of games which are only on PS3 (Ratchet, Killzone, MGS, Uncharted, GT). Home looks sweet too.

Well I'm not a fanboi so to be honest I'll be getting a 360 eventually...

Right now I have too many thing to spend on to care about purchasing a console... if I get it for free... cool... otherwise. Fuck it. I have a car and a bunch of tattoo's lined up way before I spend 500$ on a console eh...
