8X AGP question

If I get the geforce4 ti4200 with 128mb they all seem to have 8x agp available. My motherboard only has 4x AGP will the card still work at 4X AGP?

But they make a TI-4200 with 4x support.

Most boards with 4x AGP are compatible with 8x AGP but that just means an 8X AGP card will run at 4x.

In your BIOS you can set the AGP settings for your card. I ran a 97pro on AGP4x.

You can run it but it won't run at 8x AGP if the board doesn't support it.
