Since I obviously can't play it yet, I want to know about it. So tell me now!

It's great fun.

The whole of the orange box is.

Agreed - it is a blast.

The gameplay is a bit different than anything around and add to that the comic feel it's pretty funny to play

I beat a Heavy to death with a scouts baseball bat today.

It was outstanding.

TF2 is great. Matches get really hectic really fast, all the classes complement each other, the graphics are nice, the levels are really fun. Its great. On top of that Portal is pretty fun too, but it pisses me off some times, and I am enjoying Episode 1. The orange box is easily the best deal for a set of games I have ever had.

I'll need to wait to actually get it... wich sucks. Till there's a laptop with DX10 capability... I'm not even going to bother.

It doesn't require DX10

I know but I don't want to upgrade to something that's not dx10... to spend another god knows how much on something that is. :P

TF2 is fun but it strays extremely away from Team Fortress Classic style combat and gameplay. These differences would include two essentials: slower gameplay and no grenades....which in my opinion makes the Team Fortress title tainted. What TF2 lacks in gameplay it makes up with the graphics - the game is simply gorgeous. I just wish valve would have shown a little more effort for a product that has supposedly taken nine years to create.

But overall it's a fun experience, and if you're picky like me about sticking to the roots of Team Fortress, there's always Fortress Forever [it's a free mod] (www.fortress-forever.com).

Gameplay slower?
Um.. sure...if you say so. I'd only put a few games, like Unreal and Doom, above it in quickness.

You can't say that Valve push an unfinished and unrefined game out of the doors in any way. TF2 is perhaps one of the best balanced and well put together multiplayer games I've ever played.

It's well worthy of being a sequel to TF:C. Sequels should be an evolution, or even a revolution, of the game not the same old game with different graphics.

TF2 does an awesome job in that, and many other respects.

Sadly most people want a sequel to be the same game as the first with a new engine ala Tribes 2, even though I enjoyed T2 better than the original.

Its not Team Fortress, the Original TF was a mod for Quake II and compared to TF2 its a lot faster. TF:C was a continuation, it added grenades and what not. TF2 went back to the basics of TF, this makes me happy.

Well when I meant sticking to the roots, I was more so speaking of TFC, and not the original Quake.

But I really don't know what you mean by saying TF2 is comparable to (quake) Team Fortress - in what ways exactly?

No grenades and more team based than TFC ever was. The demo man and pyro are good choices again. See, unlike in TFC, TF2 / OTF you cant have your whole team be HWG and win. Scouts and Medics have become very valuable. Esp the scout which had almost no chance of killing much of anything in TFC.

TF2 taught me to deliver children!

Also: It taught me about buying larger hard drives.

it's very fun but almost everyone now spent his time shooting friends to catch spies....

I hate spies. They take a bit of fun out of the game, but by not means do they ruin it.

Spy is the best!

Need to get the orange box myself, but the guys in the fortress forever servers never seem to like it very much.

FF is a little complex for me, so I'm sure I'd like TF2...but because I'm broke I'll stick to ff, just wish more people played it.

Fortress Forever is a real port of TFC to the Source engine, TF2 is not. TF2 is overall much slower and has many changes that make it much different than TFC. For example, TF2 doesn't even have concussion grenades, which were a very important part of TFC.

They are both good games but, very different.
