The last set of teeth that appears and at the back of the mouth is the third molar. It is nicknamed as wisdom tooth. The third molar is popularly known as wisdom tooth among the public across the world.
The third molar is situated behind the second molar in the oral cavity. The third molar is four in number which is located on the upper left, upper right, lower left and lowers right in the oral cavity.
They appear when an individual reaches his/her late teens or early twenties. This period is considered or called as the age of wisdom. Now you have a got an idea about the number and position of the third molar in the dentition.
There are certain cases where the molar does not erupt in the right course. They end up in a haphazard position thereby affecting the position of the adjacent tooth within the oral cavity.
The main reason for this haphazard position is due to the insufficient space within the oral cavity for accommodating the wisdom tooth. This situation can cause more problems to other teeth in the mouth.
This condition is termed as Impacted third molar (http://www.***********.com/). This is a common problem within the teaming population. According to a recent survey conducted over the incidence of impacted tooth, it was found that for nine out of ten people at least has one wisdom teeth remaining under the gum because of lack of space in the mouth.
