WTH is up with these massive huds? I truely hope they tone down the size of those things.
Does anyone else think these take up a little too much of the screen?

I don't think it takes up alott of space... it shows all the things you need to know..
but huds will most likely be very customable, can turn on what you want and turn off what you don't want to see.
I am saying the size alone. The huds are needed yes and I do want them but things like the compass are HUGE. Those could be toned down size wise a bit IMO.

Yep the interface looks very EQesque - but with a different skin for the windows. They even use the same font and font colours!
Just like EQ, you will be able to move those windows around the screen and open/close windows to suit (and shrink them).
Thats the perfect HUD, you can remove what u dont wana see, personally all I need to see is the middle of the screen to see whose over my cross hair! :D

Im gonna place my butt on the line here an say the windows will be resizeable.
I don't care who flames me for "knowing" this  Its just a guess, but Im willing to bet George Bushes life on this...

The games resolution might also be at 800x640 so that might be why they are so large. Most sony online games have large windows that you can resize however you like.

Well i'm used to playing EQ and other MMORPGs with big UIs so to me it is actually quite minimal...besides, they will probably make it transparent when your mouse isn't over it (like the "new" EQ UI)

If you look at them and look at different pictures, you will notice that you can at least minimize the different parts of the hud. Although I haven't seen the chat box minimized, I doubt that you can't minimize it.

I play in 1600x1200 so those HUDs may be a little to small ;)

I think some one has Hud envy. Compensating?

I could do with all the huds being totally transperant. The Compass and chat hud, resizable and toggleable. The health/stamina bars could be bigger w/o all the dumb stuff the numbers or the icons or the hud itself for that matter. Weapons hud is lackluster. Okay for learning purposes. But once you got it down. That hud is overkill.
Maybe you can make some new ones PR. lol

yeah, a couple of us are bringing our HUD-preferences from Tribes, so the PS-HUDS *do* look quite big. I mean, this is what we're used to: http://home.attbi.com/~m_hilarious/images/coolhuds.png
Nice and streamline, nice transparency, and no over kill. if we can customize the huds like we can in Tribes, I'll be really happy, but it seems like client-side scripting is a no-go?

if they make the gui anything like everquest it will be a bunch of images bound together by xml, which means people can make their own gui's using their own huds if they so choose. however, i don't know how they've programmed the gui, so we shall see.
even if they didn't use xml to make the gui, you can still move the boxes around on the screen and move certain pieces of windows off of the screen.
off of that, i think the only windo that's too big is the chat window. too many borders.

I don't think there are too many HUDs, hmmmm maybe hot keys to turn them on and off would be nice.
