what I would like: thorough pre release test to block bugs and exploits that messed up Planetside.
3 competing groups is good enough
improved graphics - not necessarily more detailed, just better.

when game goes live: an immediate response to bugs, exploits or hacks when introduced through a patch - if something gets broken, ROLL BACK the version to pre-patch and FIX what caused the patch induced glitch...
DON'T just sit back and say you will get around to fixing the problem asap - your asap has in the past taken months.
if an expansion is released, make it free or very inexpensive, like cost or cost + 10% - sure, you get a quick buck making people pay for an expansion, but you lose more monthly sub fees from those who quit because they can't compete against the expansion new advantages.

I'd like to see more diversified theatres of war for one, not just fighting over bases, but fighting over resources and even towns.

I am with the making planetside 1 free thing. Then they can stop calling it a pay game and have open free developement again and do whatever they want. Maybe go nuts on it and try everything they can think of. It would damn good testing for a planetside 2. It could be the full working testbed for the newer game.

All through the development of the first game the core theme of the storyline was the respawn mechanic, known as "rebirthing".

If people are unhappy with the sequel with either of those titles being used, maybe the studio should simply call it PlanetSide: Rebirth.

And of course: Tribes is the reason Planetside Exists. Planetside is in fact extremly similar to tribes, but focused on the Massive Battles.

I know about Tribes playing a big part in inspiring PS but the only experience I have with it is Tribes 3 which was enjoyable but arena combat based. At the time I still had a large crew in Planetside so I didn't spend too much time in it.
