That's the current ratio of beta testers registered for SWG vs PS. That clears up the flagship question rather nicely I think.
Why isn't there more interest in PS? FPS games are very popular, look at the numbers sold of the better ones. So, why isn't there more hubub over PS? Do people think this game is going to suck or do people have no interest in a persistent FPS?
And here is Spork to be nice

As others have said, Star Wars is a very high-profile project but not a higher priority. Management here at SOE believes in PlanetSide every bit as much as Star Wars Galaxies. In my opinion, there are a couple of factors to the beta numbers for the two games.
1) "Star Wars - Nothing but Star Wars," as Bill Murray would croon. That's one of the biggest franchises in entertainment today, therefore the mainstream casual gamer doesn't have to work hard to find out about the game. It probably seems like the game is being marketed more aggressively because the name Markets itself.
2) Star Wars is an RPG, which is the dominant genre in MMO's today. There is a built in audience from the other existing games. We're a new direction in Massively Multiplayer, and so we have the added challenge of making the FPS player aware of our game, and helping the RPG player adapt to this style of gameplay.
PlanetSide has its own buzz going on, and will continue to gather steam right up through launch. We've made some Most Wanted of 2003 lists and we've had recent coverage in most of the major gaming magazines recently. Since we are part of a new genre, I think word of mouth is going to help us out a great deal too. Those who are unsure of PlanetSide might give us a try once they have heard how impressed their friends are with us. Of course, we won't rely on word of mouth, but we think it will be a significant factor in our success.
