Windows 7/Vista Gadgets

Why is it that the selection of gadgets for Win 7/Vista sucks so much? There are tons of gadgets/widgets available for OSX, but there are only a handful of good ones for Win 7. I was kind of hoping there would be a good outpouring of gadgets after Win 7's release.

I think its easier to release them for OSX, also i think you'll find more on some w7 forum instead of the official website.
