Sexy cinematic trailers are a dime a dozen and you can't really evaluate a game based on them. Waiting for more information about it, particularly about the multiplayer and gameplay footage.

They have no choice but to take the modern warfare route. If those are in game graphics, it looks more cartoonish than realistic. I'll wait to see more information on it. Looks interesting.

Way to beat a dead horse EA. (I'm not even sure this made sense...)

So I ask, how would one beat a new horse on this one?

We are kind of out of things to game with. It's either going to be WWII, Modern Warfare, or Future Warfare (Which I tend to dislike in most cases)

Do you have some top secret idea for a video game that has never ever been done before that involves an FPS? :p

Yeah I do have a top secret game that no one has ever thought of. It's based on ****.

I mean there's hundreds upon hundreds of new things people could try. But nowadays gaming companies aren't interested in innovation or new ideas, they want the same shit they did before because it was successful.

The old: If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I'll take Serious Sam for my example, the game came out during a time where most games were concerned with realism. Well the game did pretty much away with any realism what-so-ever and came back to the basics much like what doom had started only on a bigger scale and with new tech.

They took a risk and they reaped the benefits, the game sold tons of copy acquired a cult following and it got mad reviews. Of course.... the team responsible for serious sam is now going to do it's 3rd installement of the game.

Showing how fucking lazy dev's are now days.

The gaming industry is not about being creative anymore as much as it is about doing a cash grab, making something cool then milking it dry until you need to move on. That rarely happens now days too, thanks to the massive increase in gamers there's a ton of retards who will buy it "OMG!!!!! HALO 78!!!!! NOW WITH 2 NEW GUNZ!!!! OMIGOD!!!!"

Just look at most new content release for wow now days, same models, different colors. The devs got lazy from their success and they don't give a shit cause 10million people still play. Fuck doing something cool or original if we can just past another texture on something existant and save us more time to count the money!

I don't disagree with him. I just think he's upset :(

I mean, most of the original games that come out these days are by small time developers. They don't really make it to the general market. You can already see a Modern Warfare 3 in the works. They left the story wide open at the end.

Fact is, us older gamers are not the focus of the market anymore. It's easier to make a game for the people who will complain less about it.

Yes I'm upset.... when getting a second job to pass the time because games are so much shit as of late seems to be the only option.... well... you get my point.

The only game I've played lately: Dragon age origins. Thinking of getting mass effect 2 next...

I've purchased 3-4 games this year compared to 10two years back... food for thought.

I was never a heavy buyer of video games. Well, back in the youngin days I'd buy a ton of super nintendo games. These days, I'd be lucky to buy 2 games a year. I think I actually bought 3-4 games this year. Mainly because when I built my new computer, I wanted some games to match the power.
