The Army has finally approved my medical waiver. It only took 10 months. Now I sign my contract on Thursday and wait until May to ship out. No problem, though. I have enough going on right now that I couldn't ship out earlier then that.

My recruiter fucked up so I haven't signed my contract yet. They are trying to jerk me around a little bit. I'm signing up 18x which is Special Forces Candidate. I should sign it this week, though.

Obviously these problems stem from the reinstatement of DADT.

I'm fortunate to have a contact within the Army who can help me secure 18x. I'll be giving him a call early this week.

Very nice, besides special forces, Cav scout is the next best thing.

Get to call in CAS, Artillery, scout out the populace for terrorist threats (what I'll be doing), busting down doors, c4, convoy security, big guns and bigger fun.

I was talking about cav scout with the Army recruiter when I was considering reupping.

I spoke to my contact and he has no pull in SF. Which simply means I'll sign a contract for a separate MOS and then try for SF once I'm in.

I am in country right now, cant say where or doing what. But this is definately a life experience everyone should have. Not saying in the military, but this is a beautiful place.

It's official. I signed yesterday. 11x and while I'm in I'll volunteer for SFAS which will have me go through Airborne first.
