I think the PS:Next hype is bringing a lot of old vets back, it certainly got me playing again and I must admit, it's as fun as I remember it being.

I just found something annoying. It seems you have to reactivate the game before you can actually download it. Either that or I am missing something.

This Planetside: Next hype has got me itching to play Planetside again.
However with all server merged in to one server i'm somewhat worried. I used to play on Werner and that server was located less than 50 miles from where I live, so I had a really decent connection.

So instead of creating a new post, I'll hitch a ride in this one.
By any chance some one have the server address of Gemini so do a bit op network testing and see how my connection performs.

Any player feedback from European players or Dutch players regarding there connection to the server is more then welcome to tip the scale on trying the game again.

UK player here and I haven't noticed any game breaking lag so far, all runs fairly well. Haven't been involved in a massive battle yet however.

Hello there,

it seems that a lot of players are re-subbing because of the PS: Next hype. I did this aswell last week and I must say the population is excellent. Yesterday we had a poplock aswell.

I live in the Netherlands and have no issue's with lag whatsoever, it runs smooth as ever and the battles are still as awesome as they used to be. We had a few huge armor collums yesterday and at one point there were like 20-30 reavers circling our base pounding us all to death...good times :-D

There are also a lot of active outfits, I met some cool guys and joined up with them, using tactics and working together as a team, really awesome.

So don't hesitate and come back to PS!

I re subbed a little over a week ago and I've seen 3 or 4 pop locks. A week ago Sunday, last Friday, Saturday afternoon and I think yesterday. Lots of interest on other gaming forums I frequent.

I finally broke down the other day and resubbed. Once I finally got everything worked out, I only played for about an hour and there weren't any huge battles going on. It was just nice to be back.

Last night, though, I got to play for awhile and it was soooo sweet. Far from poplock, but there were enough people on to get a red alert or 2. It totally reminded me of why I loved Planetside so much. Now I just need to shake 3 years of cobwebs off. I feel like a freakin noob.

A Vanu outfit apparently had 52 members online tonight gunning 8 Galaxy Gunships. In the middle of an assault on Cyssor, attacking Nzame, I look up and just saw the various munitions flying in my direction. The most fun I've had dying seeing such an awesome sight.

We fell back and pulled the most skyguards and burster MAX units I've seen at once.

ohh damn. I haven't played since reserves, and it's been a long four years. I think I'll resub soon in honor of four years wasted in real life.
The only reason I haven't done so sooner is because PS never ran correctly on my old computer, and I think I tested it too early on my new Windows 7. I tried on like the weekend after it came out, so PS might not have supported 7 yet, but it seems to now.

I look forward to contributing to these pop locks! :)

Pop locks are rare; but there are certainly still enough people in game to make the fights interesting... The unfortunate bit is that many of the organized groups are shells of their former selves. Meaning that while there's tons of chaotic fights; organized tactics and movements are considerably more rare.

Also, because of the lower pops overall; 5-10 guys switching empires, or 15-20 guys logging off can make the global pops swing wildly; meaning that the overall global pops tend to become polarized throughout the night; with the empire with the best fight having +45% and the empire with the worst fight dropping as low as the low-teens...

Still, there is plenty of fun to be had yet.
