We've seen some media recently from PS:Next, the Galaxy, the Reaver and comments here and there by Smed.

The question is - what would you most like to see next? Another screenshot and if yes what?

Or maybe you want more info rather than images.

Have the base layouts changed?
Are there different bases now or are they still the basic 5 kinds?
Has the lattice system changed?
Is the certification program going to be like the old school Planetside or Aftershock Planetside?

Most importantly Smedley and Hamma: How much is this being backed by Sony? Do they have full Everquest level support here? (magazine articles, mainstream media coverage, etc) or is this going to be like Global Agenda? You know, one article in a half-way decent gaming magazine and that's it?

Promise me that it's not a canned, "We have the full backing of Sony Online Entertainment." I'd love to see a kind of strategy board for this, if it's possible.

I agree with Sentrosi, I want to know how much resources Sony is allocating towards Planetside Next in order to hopefully put my deepest fears to sleep.

I'd also like to see some footage, in game would be great, CGI would be good too, I just need a video to obsess about.

For images let’s see some empire reinforced exo-suit models, and the Magrider.

Hurrr, so much possible stuff there.

A few minutes of gamplay. No trailer or stuff, real gameplay.

If thats not possible, a screenshot of the world map.

And if thats not possible, text, walls of text about the story between PS and PSN, means what happend, why are there no more bfrs, why did most of the vehicles changed, what strange possible discoveries have been made, that stuff.

and if thats not possible, a magrider screenshot. :)

What I would like to know:

1. Does this game really exist? There has been no real information given one way or the other, only models supposedly from in-game. I guess what I mean is: how far along is the game, really? If it is supposed to come out next month, why have we had no footage, screenshots, information, or announcements? We don't even know the name of the game!

2. How closely to the original will Next's gameplay be?

3. How much support and commitment (including advertising) is Sony going to give?

Sorry if this seems like a very negative first post. I am RIDICULOUSLY excited about PS:N, but am simply very confused about the lack of solid information when supposedly we are so very close to release (or at least the start of beta testing).

Yea i would like to know what sort of game they plan on making, judging by the realistic graphics and 2 seater reaver id say they're making another tactical shooter clone. (when you think about how much money tactical shooters sell each year...i think soe may want a piece of that pie)

I would like to know if its going to play like planetside or will we see..aiming down sights, 1 hit kill headshots, lethal nades gibbing people, classes...etc etc.

First off - if the game is going to be released in two months then how come Sony have only released some concept art of two vechs ?

Second - Can they give a none hyped, none marketing talk, realistic date that a PS 2 will be released.

Third - Will there be anymore depth the game play, ie crafting, character skills, outfit housing, etc.

I'd want to know how the GUI has changed. Like it or not, the UI for Planetside is quite cumbersome, and I'd like to see if they have streamlined it, and how.

I want to see an interview about the base concepts behind the game; without comparing it to the previous game. I feel that an interview and questions answered would be more beneficial if we knew some of the reasoning behind decisions that are being made, as well as the game itself.

IMHO this game will go stella if it has the players and can deliver some of that unique original PS magic in the way of sheer scale.

Oh Sony (Mr Smedley) please put something in place which will help build strong user communities. PS is a team game and to get the best experience from the game is doing things as a team. It was a nightmare in the original PS release to get into a good squad. More often than not you got sucked into the zerg and PS has many more facets than that. CCP have kind of got this right with the user community tools and fan kits they have released. I am not saying copy or anything but it will really help with customer retention.

I agree this is a big problem. Personally, I blame people wanting orbital strike (understandably) for every shit pub squad I've ever been in, so hopefully something changes with command level rewards in the sequel.

I would either, listen to firefly and just find an outfit, or start running your own squads. That said, hopefully SOE finds some creative ways to get pub squads doing more interesting things beyond following the zerg.

I have no problem finding the right kind of squads I am just saying that anything that makes it easier is a plus. Some people like to zerg other people like to do different things.

A game like PS relies on teamwork so anything that helps pull people together and interact in the right way will help in retaining players. Make it simple and not up to chance.

Again look at EVE wrong corp it is a really dull game. Right corp with the right players it shines.

Not so much what I want to know, but what I'd like to see is a new website with all the information about the game. Pictures of all the weapons and descriptions along with vehicles and base information and separate pages for each continent of the planet would be awesome.

Giving out single pieces of information is tiring if you're not going to do it every day.

Also something else I asked before, but it would be nice to know if air vehicles have a full six degrees of freedom. As a liberator pilot I hated that you couldn't let your tail gunner easily shoot planes above you. Also I'd love to be able to do barrel rolls and other crazy things.

I'd like to see an announcement for Some kind of Week long ( a 3 day weekend isn't due for far too long in the future ) reactivation of old accounts ( and yeah, give it to the active accounts too ) to spike the activity for those who miss the game but don't track it anymore.

Again. Find an outfit. Not just any outfit, but an outfit that has a reputation for doing good things and filling out squads. That's really ALL you need to do, unless you're Traak, at which point you're alone in the world, butthurt and seething with anger at having been kicked out of every outfit in existence. Anyone from TR-Emerald remember a player named 0000?

Also something else I asked before, but it would be nice to know if air vehicles have a full six degrees of freedom. As a liberator pilot I hated that you couldn't let your tail gunner easily shoot planes above you. Also I'd love to be able to do barrel rolls and other crazy things.
Not even gonna touch flight mechanics, I'm sure everyone already knows how I feel about that. A dorsal turret would be nice, they could make either the Lib or the Vulture (or both) something like a Flying Fortress *IN THAT* it had protection in all directions. As it stands now, the only way to keep from being chewed up by other aircraft is to put your Liberator at max altitude so no one can get above you, and make sure you have a tail gunner. Preferably, run with two or more aircraft for interlocking fields of fire (unless you're incompetent and fly single-file).

Im assuming they want to attract a large as possible crowd of players to thier new game (unlike the last Planetside).

I want to know how they will support these new players and keep them playing. What systems for things like XP (and how they intend to keep it being useful), alternate advancement, long term character development or orginisational tools.

These players are the key to keeping the new planetside (assuming its a good game) upwardly profitable which will keep them generating content and patches. No money = slow decent into failure. I want them to avoid that at all costs!

Why was Virrago on PS last night talking in global about making a secret list.
It was a list of outfit leaders and outfits.
So I saw people asking if he was making a "secret" list for beta testers and he didnt answer except to say "it's a secret". I'm pretty sure we are all not so nieve to not know that it must be for the beta.

So my question is .... Will everyone who still subs to PS get a chance to be in the beta or just a select few from elite outfits ?

Ditto for the NC and TR. :rolleyes: I mean an instagib weapon and goggles what's up with that? :cry:

On a less trolling note "Vanu Sovereignty" fits well with "New Conglomerate" and "Terran Republic". Then again I might be biased since I played as VS since the game came out. Purple is a pretty sweet color if I don't say so myself. The weapons from what I can tell after using the NC and TR for a while are balanced as long as you don't try to use say the NC shotgun from a medium range and use it for its intended purposes.

I have no idea how many people were in the original beta, so they may have tons of players just to test the scale, but I'm guessing there are going to be alot of disappointed people.

There's probably a couple thousand people subb'd to PS at max. That's nowhere near the amount of people usually in betas lol.

Global Agenda's ALPHA probably had more people in it than planetside currently has subbed.

Not to mention, not everyone who gets in beta would want to play.

Sporkfire was TR. One of the devs whose name I forget (he worked with Enrico_Pallazzo and BigDevDawg) was also pro-TR.

I keep up with them on Facebook, but beyond that... couldn't say. Sporkfire is no longer with SOE, and hasn't been for a long time. Enrico_Pallazzo (Thom Terrazas), not sure what he's doing, he was the PS dev in 2006 and for a few years more - I think he's on the EQ team now, but don't quote me on that. I don't know who the current Planetside's devs are. I can't remember the pro-TR dude's name either so I couldn't even speculate. Sorry.

As back in the day, i can count on the Artist to go Vanu.

Lets get facts here:

The Artists and scientist go VS, to happily let their creative mind flow and create stuff, forever. They couldnt do that as member of the Republic, because everything and their mother was restricted.

The Corp Ceo goes NC, because in the Republic, he had no chance to become big boss and supress others, because the Republic already supressed everything and their mother. He couldn't become a evil overlord as member of the Republic, so he joined the NC to become a evil overlord.

Who goes TR? Obviously, the simple minded guys who cant create and cant lead. The Bees, the easily replaced ones. We will propably see some little coder or some QA guy pro TR at some point.

In short:
VS: All leet and artistic and great minds and stuff.
NC: just some guys who want to exploit others for their own profit.
TR: Just dull.

SmokeJumper one of the original Devs was very much TR. Got to squad up with him a few times. I don't recall what CriticalMass played.. and I lost track of the various other devs.

As for the "Current" Original PS developers. Do we even know who those are? :confused:

We only know of T-Ray in terms of current developers of PSN - I would think there are some TR players amongst whatever PS Next developers there are.. ;)

I would like to see a media blitz unparalleled in the history of gaming. No reason PS:Next can't be serving up MMOMayhem to millions.

I wonder if Sony would bother to invest the money in the bandwidth necessary to keep it running smoothly?

Attention, Sony: It isn't AVERAGE FPS when in sanc staring at a corner that matters. It's the LOWEST FPS that we experience in a base clogged with spawning, shooting, grenade-chucking enemies and friendlies that determines your MINIMUM server needs.

So what if your servers run great when no one needs them to. We need them to run smoothly when everyone needs them to. Yeah, I know, this would require actually doing things in a more customer-service-oriented way.

But customer service leads to more customers, not fewer. That is where the money is, in customer satisfaction, not just letting bean counters dumb down everything for maximum short-term profit for a bunch of shareholders in Tokyo. Japan used to go by ten-year market share goals. When they caught the American infection of OMG sacrifice everything to show a good quarterly profit at the expense of even having a company, I don't know.

But they need to get disinfected and get back to value first, which leads to long-term customer base expansion.

I want to see somebody talking about what they're doing to channel and focus action into large battles.

I want to see somebody talking about some of their design goals for promoting mixed forces.

I want to see somebody talking about rewarding defense -- bases have static defenses that can be manned, but why should I man the defenses of a base that's not yet under attack (but that I believe will be soon; say, due to the lattice layout)? I think everybody can agree that, as an attacker, it's a more rewarding fight if there are forces present when you arrive, rather than defenders arriving after you've already hacked the base. But why should there be defenders when your assault is just forming?

If there is a subscription will there be a life time option like in DCUO?

Besides characters will there be any customization?

Will there be a better website tracking for in-game features, like armor, kills, rank ,etc..?

If there is a console version will you be able to take your PC subscription on your console or will there be two difference subscriptions types?
