It's a good read, I found myself last year when I was putting together my PUP.
I also found this:

Designer of all the PS models.

Yea I know it's been around for a bit, figured now is as good a time as any to highlight it.
And nice find on Briley's page - he used to spend allot of time here at PSU.

Cool read. I hadn't seen it before. The terrain shots were really spectacular. It really makes me wonder how good the terrain might look in PS:N.
(I'll still turn off the grass as an option because it was easier to see the baddies)

Yeah I can imagine. I hope that once we see the sequel to Planetside released that it will emerge a similar blog post. Would be interesting to see what ideas they had that they scratched off the board. :)

Apperently they were working on a 4th AI empire, the Vanu. As far as i know, plan was to get them out during events and stuff. But as we all know, they never made it live.
And that purple tower you see on some screenys was ment to be the location you spawn from. You then had to run to your nearest base to get equipment.
That stuff told me an alpha tester weeks ago.
And yea, i want to know what stuff was tried during PSN development and then removed. Always nice to read what ideas failed for whatever reason. ;)

Orbital Stations were meant to be in, which you got the HART ship to, got into the drop pod and then hit the atmosphere.
Would have been cool, but a bit of a waste of time/loading screens unless there could be combat on them...

I'm digging this cat's screenshots of Vanu gear in TR colours. I'm also digging that HART.
Too bad we couldn't have an outfit cruiser like the HART. Or use it as an orbital platform.

I watched Avatar again the other day; I want that massive gunship/cruiser they fly.
