How many people have begun writing some fan fic since the talks about this new forum extension?
Regardless if we get it or not, i think it would still be cool to have some more fan fic from this community!
I know i started writing up mine tonight :) I hope to get to read some of yours too!

We  you eMa! No, I didn't actually bother to read her post, I just saw that eMa was author. That's all that matters. J/K I read it, and no I have no fan fic. I need to play the game b4 I write it. It's usually a true story with some fictional crap thrown in for fun.

I never quite understood fan fiction...I always thought the real fun of writing was in the whole act of making up a make-believe world, why would you want to use someone else's?

Sometime it is easier to start with a basic framework. Sometimes it is really tough to start from scratch. If you use a precreated universe, you can focus on the story and character development instead of creating the universe.

I guess it is a matter of playing to a writers strengths.

I've writen a couple small peices of fan-fic, and I thing the one in the main discussion forum is going good because there are several mature writers all working togeather(if unorganized).

Here is the start of mine, rememeber I am an amature so dont be to harsh, and this is only the start, lots more to come.

Gun Tower # 4, Sector 537
The day was nearly over, the same blistering heat that had been slowly cooking the men of Gun Tower #4 was slowly starting to fade. They had recently heard the tales of the New Conglomorate rebelions, but like all of the Terran Rebublics soilders, they knew those upstarts would not last long. Job, a young PFC was getting ready to end his shift and get some much needed rest when a trail of dust in the east cought his eye.
"Hey, Petri, bring me the boniculars, I think I see something out there." Job shouted down.
"Ah hell, Come and get em yourself you lazy ass." Petri returned.
Job thought of using a few choice four letter words on his plump squad mate, then thinking better of it he droped down and retrived the pair of Viditech boniculars before climbing back up to the lookout post. Ajusting them for the comming gloom he scaned the horizon for the dust plume. It was easy to spot, but something was wrong, for there was something kicking up dust out there, but what ever it was, Job did not see it. He took a few more moments to search before picking up the comm.
"Jase, you awake down there man?" He asked
"10-4 good buddy, whats up." Jase replied
"Its proably nothing, but I am seeing some dust kicking up east of here, and I ain't seeing anything to kick it up, is the radar pickin up anything in the area?" Job inquired
The line was dead a moment, then Jase came back over the comm.
"Nada, Not so much as a quad is out there, not that I am getting atleast, wait,"
"What is it?"
"Never mind, there was a blip on the motion sensers, but still nothing on the radar, proably just a rabit or something moving out there."
"Man, this is creepy, lets call it in." Job said.
"Your gonna file the report then." Jase told him.
"Whatever, Just call it in."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The tests of the advanced scaning tech R&D had put on his bird had been going well, and Hamma was preparing to end the flight and head back to the -CDL- base when a call came in from the Terran Infantry base #34
"Test Flight 272 we have recieved a call from Tower #4 in sector 537, they want a scan of the area due east of them. Cordinates are 3342, 3463, find out what is causing the desterbance and report back."
"Copy that, I am on my way."
As much as he loved flying, after hours in the cockpit, and with his energy cells in the Mosquito running low, Hamma was ready to return to base, and hoped it was just some yokel with four wheeler out in restricted area, or better yet nothing at all. It took him less then half an hour to reach the spot. He preformed a quick scan with the skeeters regular scanner, then, on a hunch, booted up the Advanced scanning array. It did two scans of the area and picked up nothing, but then, just as he was moving to switch it off, a small red blip appeared on the screen and data began to stream down his HUD.
"This is Test Flight 272, investigating report of strange sighting in sector 537, I am getting low energy emitions from multiable sources, they look to becoming from a rock outcroping due 2374.4 meters east south east of Gun Tower # 4."
"We read you Test Flight 272, please conduct addition scans of the site to determine the sorce of these emitions."
"Yes Sir."
Hamma wheeled the Mosqutio around and flew over the broken rocks, checking the scanner as well as scanning the area himself for anything that might be giving off the emisions. His eyes soon told him what the scanner would a moment later, whatever was giving off that energy was underground.
"Test Flight 272 here again, the energy emitions appear to be orgininating underground. I believe I can see sevral small caves among the rocks below, premision asked to land and investigate said caves."
"Premition granted Test Flight 272, activate your head cam and proceed with caution."
Hamma landed his Mosquito on one of the larger rocks and pulled a Cycler from the storage compartment behind his seat. He only had the Cycler and a Repeater, and only one drum of ammo for the Cycler, but that would proably be enough considering he would proably not have to fire it. Sevral small caves dotted the area, but only one was large enough for a man to walk into, so Hamma picked that one. The hard rock, still warm with the days heat, held no tracks, making it impossiable to tell if anyone had been in recently. Looking back at his bird one last time Hamma switched on his shoulder lamp and headed into the gloom of the cave.
The cave lead deeper under the surface then Hamma had thought it would. So far he had not found much, just a few empty crates and a table, that is until now. Just ahead a small generator had been set up, and next to it two computers. Those would bear further investigation, but first he would finish his search of the caves. Sevral power lines ran from the generator deeper into the cave system, and it was these that Hamma followed. The cords ran for nearly thirty meters before going over a sharp drop. A small lift hummed a few feet away, waiting to go down, and below that a pale teal light glowed. Hamma walked over to the lift and prepared to decend when the teal light moved. Focusing the light of his shoulder lamp into a more concetrated beam he highlighted the glowing teal light, and exposed its source: a massive power suit not much smaller then a Terran Rebublic MAX unit. a power suit that now saw him.
Hamma lept back and in the same motion shot the controls for the lift. That would keep what ever that was down there, or so Hamma thought. He had just turned to leave when he head the thud of a pair of very heavy boots landing on rock behind him.
