Who are they? Why are they here? Where did they come from?

Those questions, to my knowledge, were never really answered.

So here's some questions for Planetside Next?
What roll do you think they could play in Planetside Next? Will they even play a role? Do you even WANT them to play a role? How could they potentially be implemented?

They would work better as part of the actual factions IMO. Like something you save up for points wise an then purchase a life as one then back to normal after death. It's just like BFR's they kind of had a good idea but implemented it badly.

Strange, it seems like you just said that being able to purchase a rexo with 1000 health would be better.

I'm sure Black Ops was created simply to make things interesting for a fairly stagnent game at the time. I hope that we don't see them in PSN personally.

Well better than some weird neutral faction with access to all equipment that made no sense. But yeah it was clearly one of those desperate crazy ideas thrown in to revive interest in the game an I don't care if they make it in either.

But I think the idea of occasionally being able to spawn as an Elite soldier is kind of cool. I think there should be stuff like that which you can works towards earning to motivate you to keep playing. An if reserves are in the game it wouldn't be available to them so would be another motivation to subscribe.

I don't think you should ever be able to spawn as someone with 5x the health of everyone. This isn't WoW, time played shouldn't = huge advantage.

Sorry if you can't be motivated enough to play without the prospect of temporary god mode.

It wouldn't require a ridiculous amount of time played. It's something everyone could obtain occasionally. An it wouldn't have to be as strong as Black Ops was either. Fact is Next will need something to look forward to earning IMO to keep people interested. It was bad enough original Planetside lacked this back when it came out. But now post WoW when the masses are even more motivated by earning stuff I think they would fail even harder without it.

Hell even none MMO online games are having to do this stuff. Call of Duty has levels/prestiges care packages. Team Fortress 2 has a whole freaking item/crafting economy. So yeah they will have to something like this in Next to be competitive market wise.

Black Ops should be genetically modified super soldiers that were created by the TR but went rogue.

And were killed, swiftly and permanently.

NO. THEY SHOULDN'T BE ANYTHING. They shouldn't even be in the fucking game. They should be images on SOE toilet-paper so they can wipe their ass and shit on them. The end.

I personally don't care. I just don't want to ever see them again. They were just a half-thought-through idea (at best), that got implemented into the game without any need for them. A silly idea.

I think it might make for an interesting capture mechanic if it was an npc that spawned with higher health (like a high ranking prisoner) and you had escort back to your base in order to capture the base you rescued him from. Similar to the capture the ball mission.

Black ops could be better IF
It was a 10 person limit and they all had to be from the same outfit
1000HP is way to much health.
