I have recently downloaded PS. However, I can't play it due to me not having a key because I wanted to try it first. So I went looking for a trail and can't seem to find one...I would appreciate either a trail key or some sort of activation key so I can try it before I purchase the game (if I do.) Thanks in advance. :D

As far as I know, trial accounts were removed because they were being abused by hackers.

Hiking on free trails is much more preferable to trails which require me to pay.

Its a good game, however I was thinking of getting an SOE card. However, I wanted to try the game before I spent my money. (when I get it)

Do you know if at any time they will release another trial?

Nobody here is on SOE Payroll, not even Tigersmith. From a player standpoint and perspective, I'm almost positive they WON'T have another free trial. 1) Free trials got a bad reputation from allowing a lot of hackers into the game. 2) SOE's probably banking on news of PS:N and the tantalising possibility for active subs to get a beta invites. And by banking, I mean that literally. They're raking in income from renewed interest in Planetside.

My advice is stop spending your money on worthless garbage like PSP games, and shell out the meagre dollars required to purchase a game-card. Fifteen bucks can be earned, easily, in a day.

Yeah, the only thing that is holding me back is I want to see what the playerbase and gameplay is for myself. However, I think your idea is probably the best Firefly.

If you want to see what the playerbase is like, you missed that boat about five-six years ago. However, with impending PS:N beta, the playerbase is exploding again.

I tell you what I'm gonna do, homie. I'm gonna get you a 30-day gamecard from SOE. I want you to be able to experience the majesty of Planetside. Expect a PM from me shortly.

so, if i haven't activated the game yet, will a 30 days gamecard work for activating the game or do i need a gamekey first?

I don't know about that, since I've had the game since I bought the disks on retail launch day and have kept them safe through the years. But for anyone wishing to use a gamecard, a 30-day gamecard will require you to have an SOE account.

Okay here should be the steps for a new person to get setup.
1) Go to station.sony.com
2) click Sign Up
3) Complete account sign up.
* Consists of DOB and Email Address.
* User ID and Password.
4) Login with your new account.
5) In Account Managment screen click "Enter Activation Code."
6) In Enter Activation Code screen and choose "PlanetSide"
7) In Enter Code section enter code from Game Card
Click Go!
At this point you should be able to play the game.
You will need to download the station laucher to DL the game and play it.
Which is available here. http://launcher.station.sony.com/

You could install the station launcher before you get the game card. But you would need to have a game card before you can DL and play the game.

Yes, sorry - it's the weekend and it's very busy here. Sorry. I sent you a PM with the code. Follow the activation instructions and you should be all set. Hope to see you in-game.

It said it was invalid, now it is saying I have already used it for my account. I followed your instructions exactly. The only thing that could be wrong is if you entered the game code incorrectly...I don't know.

So can you or can't activate the game with a gamecard? Aren't namone problems caused by this?

Yes, mawricus. 30-day gamecards can be used with Planetside. His issue is that the card number is invalid, according to the website. And I know it's not, because I'm the one that purchased it.

Well it said it was invalid but now it is saying I already used it, though I still don't have access to the game. :P But basically yeah.

A ton of people are having trouble trying to setup and renew accounts. I'm not quite sure why SOE makes it so hard for us to give them money..

Yeah, I have been hearing about that. Still no response from customer support. How long does it usually take them to respond?

Unsure a few people have said it's taken them a day or so to get things sorted.

I emailed you a scanned copy of the receipt and the game-card in case Customer Support needs to see it. Depending on how long it takes, I'll just email Smedley. The email address you used, is that the one linked to your account?

Thats a damn shame they don't have trials at the moment. I would certainly try this game out. Well, they could've introduced a system, when someone invites ya for a trial. ;)

God dammit. I told myself I'd never play Planetside 1 again because of how old it is and how messed up it got, but the wait for ps2 is just too long...

Thanks for that heads up Effective, I'll take advantage of that to play and get my fix of PS even for a short while, if they have stopped the hacking I might even subscribe again (see their fiendish plan is working) :P
