I don't think thats remotely possible. Nobody releases even a modest budget game without months of advertisements.

Though I concede the possibility of a beta in that time.

hmmm, I hate to be a killjoy, but we MUST remember that that last sentence does not necessarily mean PS:N. Could just as easily be some info on tribes universe or Firefall. Hell, it could even be something relating to blizzard's 'titan' project that accidentally got outed (unlikely I know).

It would seem that "Destiny" is not even classifed as an MMO by Bungie (some kind of... joke? at GDC? Sounds more like controling the message).

Either way it would see they are working on an action game that is small scale. (Probably quite similar to halo... yeah).

Lol, good luck making the transit from one cell to another unnoticable. And if they want to archive their 1k players with THAT game, well no need for a complicated server architecture then, because with just a little optimization a single strong server would be able to handle that...

But for a game like planetside, well, your gonnna be screwed. And no cell stuff is going to save you there, unless you can live with some nasty issues... (have fun figuring out what happens is a player from one cell server shoots at a player from another cell server)

So its just Planetside Next, Dust 512 and the Blizzard MMO left? While Titan (the Blizzard one) is completly unknown and years away (Blizzard aims for a Q4 2013 release), Dust 512 is known, but a console shooter only, and therefore useless for most of us. That means, all thats left of the great MMOFPS revival is Planetside Next. And that seems to come along soonish. :)

Last I checked Dust 514 wasn't that big of a deal. It's a console game using micro-transactions in small combat skirmishes with a commander. I imagine the EVE developers saw MAG and wanted in on that. :rolleyes:

Sucks ass. I do love the fact they will integrate it with EVE though; genius concept.

Games inside other games is awesome; they could have an X-wing style game slot in nicely as well, not to mention all sorts of RTS conflicts.

I remember seeing a funny video from Bungie back on an April Fools Day where they said the next Halo game would be chess. That was clearly a joke. This whole idea of a rumor being out there for so long and then they just now say it was a joke...it just doesn't feel right. But whatever, less competition for PS:N, the more people will play it.
