Worth resubbing?

Now with all of the PS:N stuff being released I'd imagine the activity is skyrocketing. Is it worth it to resub? Are hackers still a problem?

Well tbh I have taken this into serious consideration now due to the mere fact that current subs are guaranteed to be in the PS2 beta by default.

Cant speak about the current status of the game but from what I hear it seems so sparsely populated that hackers would be deterred by the lack of prey...

As for hackers, They are pretty much non-existent because they got rid of the free trial program. And the Population is a big as it's been since the reserves were around. Iv been resubbed for a week and we got cont locks daily.

So the hackers are down and the pop is up, as for beta access, i dont really care much about that. I don't want an unfinished game to taint my view of the game, I'd rather just play it on release.


I was reading up on everything about that PS is now and I'll probs just wait for PS:N to come out and sub that.

ummm, the early days of PS were pretty buggy. I give them a pass though because they were breaking new ground, and oh yeah, PS is probably my all time favorite game.

1. No problem with hackers. I've only seen ONE in the last few weeks.
2. Most nights it seems we get close to a poplock. It's not quite the old days when there were 1-3 poplocks on emmy during primetime, but it's not bad either.
3. The base fights are nice and strong. Just today there was an excellent battle at Bitol inside the base. The TR were pushing the BD, and we just barely managed to shove them out, take out their OS, then spent an hour pushing the tower. They held out long enough that It required a router to the roof to clear.

I just resubbed last night and had an absolute blast on Ishundar, it's been so long!

I've definitely got a lot of catching up to do on the happenings, but I think I'll be sticking around for a while at least :)

It used to be possible to find very interesting infantry battles as well, smaller ones. The last time I was there felt like vehicle battles and base battles and nothing in between. A side effect of so many open certs I'd assume, but it felt pretty stagnant to me.

The only frustration I'm having is the shift in attitude from playing to kick the (insert Empire name) scum off of our continent/planet to XP farming.

We were on no less than three continents this past weekend where the VS nearly or completely doubled the number of the opposing force at a base and COULD NOT ( or would not ) cap the base. Maybe this is just a VS thing cause the NC and TR seem to play to win still.

Hell with that. Found Smoke and Mirrors ( of Markov ) people still running and we're gonna play like it's 2006 no matter how the foolish Vanu Zerglings wanna play and make the world purple.

Can anyone answer this for me?
Will new accounts be eligible for the PS2 beta, or is there a cutoff? Cause I had an account 8 years ago, from beta til BFR's, then a new account for the PS:Reserves, but it'll take a bit to actually reactivate my original account, whereas I can get a key for 10 bucks netting me one month of playtime now, which I'd do if I'll still be eligible to get into PS2 for the beta.

Been going nuts since I heard about it months ago.

Edit: Meanwhile, accessing a new account is swiftly turning into a nightmare. Made a new account, can't log in, attempt password reset, error with request, "Contact Customer Service" closed on sundays, can't use web because I have to be able to log in.

There is a free 45 days of game play if you have not used it yet. Regarding beta there is nothing set in stone besides Smedley saying current subs will be the first to get in. I doubt access will have anything do with account age too.

On the beta subbers note. I think there will be a cutoff date. when? I don't have a clue, but i hope they do this so everyone that has had an account before the news and is truely loyal to PS will be the ones making sure this is the game they want to play.

With the free 45 days around if SOE really wants the loyal customers to get in and not the free riders (sorry guys) we probably will not see this till the free days are over. The last day to redeem your free time is the end of August I believe, so that would put us in the middle of October at the latest. Imagine the players who are free time do not get invites and people paying do? I could see a lot of bitching from that. At least by October everyone will have to be subbed if they wish to play, so it will not be an issue.

Then I guess I'll wait until tomorrow so I can actually call the customer service and see if I can't get access to my old account. Been so long since I played with that one, that I don't remember the username anymore. The email had been disabled, since I changed emails a long time ago too. So the email with my username in it vanished to the depths of the internet.

As a side note, anyone know any good VS outfits that are up and running these days?

Depends on what your looking for. If you're looking for massive scale look on GoTR or small op basis, but with trials to get in look at Delta Triad. Looks like DT has new apps though I do not know how many they're looking for.

Hooray, got my username(s) (Apparently I had four? lol) Can't reset password though, just getting an error, both on attempting to change it (I might not remember the right password), and when I use the password reset link, I get an email saying

Hey, im trying to activate my 45 days of free play. Im an old suscriber from 2003 and I havnt played in a long time. How to I activate my 45 days? How to I access the game from the launcher? When I open the launcher, it says "This program cannot be displayed" and there is no button i can click to launch planetside.

I then tried buying a month subscription. It says it cost me $0.00 and I received a confirmation email, but yet still the launcher gives me no way to play the game.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I too want to come back and play again.

Are you using Station Launcher? If you want to enjoy your free time I recommend going TR or VS. NC cannot even move between two conts in a timely manner to resecure a base.

Yes i am using the station launcher and it is not helping at all. It gives me two games to click after i log in, infantry and cosmic rift, both of which i never played.

Is planetside up as we speak?

I see a little window that says station launch pad with a window saying "navigation to webpage has been cancelled" and another saying "more games". The right hand side gives me buttons such as buddy list and chat and such.

I am so confused
