i dunno, but for some reason the first thing i thought about when i saw the pic was this (http://datacore.sciflicks.com/starship_troopers/images/starship_troopers_large_01.jpg).

aside from my nyquil induced delusions, my guess would be it's a Vanu MAX. mainly since it's armor is purple after all:)

There is the fossilized 1 kilometer wingpanned creature. I hope my mosquito doesn't run into a living creature like that.

SOE could do something like have a weekend where the 3 factions must ally against the uber death creatures. Then after the weekend, faction wars return to normal.

Me thinks its the Vanu MAX, it might not be, but as the guy on the cover is in Vanu armor with a Vanu weapon and its not killing him, and has Vanu colors, i think its the Vanu MAX.

If people were still having their feelings hurt by all the pvp they might set up a "bluebie" ps server, lol. Make it so that there is a "alien threat" that wants to come and destroy everything and your faction or maybe everyone fights against bot aliens every day. Maybe compete over what faction kills aliens the best, reminds me of FF11.

BTW I am NOT saying I want this AT ALL. I was just mearly showing that anything is possiable.

The Vanu would enslave the Aliens, give them Lasers, and win. (by killing the NC and TR) then they would open the warp gate and go though to take over the rest of the TR

A blue PS server is definately impossible and would be paramount in suctitude. Between SWG and EQ/EQ2, I think Sony has the carebear market quite covered. Now it's time for them to take on the ultra-competitive, cutthroat pvp market, and there is no room for love peace and harmony in a FPS.

Take a look at how many copies the sims has sold and think about that again. A totally untapped market (women who don't generally like computer games) has made that game the number 1 selling game of all time. This is a buisness and buisness follows the money. I think there very definentially is room for love, peace and harmony in FPS. Do I want it no, but I think its there (the possibility), and it will probably be tapped into sometime.

Yes I agree on "suctitude", but it might make money (although I don't think PS will ever do it), ya never know.

I don't think women who want to virtually manage and neighborhood would come to planetside for a carebear FPS. If SOE/Verant want to compete in that market, I don't think planetside is the game to do it with.

Like Airlift said, I think SOE/verant are tapping into the cut-throat PvP market here.

If someone is looking for love, peace and harmony in an online game, I don't think they will be running to a FPS.

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to say. The cooperative gaming market is definately huge, and probably larger on the whole than the competitive gaming market, but this game falls squarely into the latter category. For gamers seeking a shiny happy gaming experience, SOE would like you to consider Star Wars Galaxies or the Everquest franchise. Planetside is for those of us who would rather blow large holes thru the abdominal cavities of our fellow gamers.
