Is joining now worth it?

So I see plenty of threads about whether Planetside is still worth resubbing but this is a bit different. An old friend of mine used to play Planetside all the time and its always been something I've been interested in but I never have played. Now I find that a sequel is in the works and Planetside is still going. So my question is whether Planetside is still accessible to new players. And should I start playing if there is anything I should probably know.

As it is populations are dropping fast, but when we get some solid PS2 info they will shoot back up. If I were you I would wait until that happens, and certainly try and get your friend to play with you when you do.

If you've got the funds to spare follow the download advice in Hamma's post. You get 30 days of play time, in that time you should be able to work out if you want to sub or not.

That's how I made up my mind.

Hey Guys,

I've played PS when it was free for 1 Year and I'm absolutely missing it. Yesterday i wanted to buy it, but first when i click subscribe in the Launcher, i get a blank Page after Login (testet with various Browsers and OS) and second, i can't find it on Direct2Drive. Do i need to buy it to play or can i just subscribe and pay 15$/m? Does not really matter because nothing works but would be good to know. (If i need to buy, any1 here who doesn't play PS1 anymore and wanna gift me the Account? :))

So...how can I play now? I WOULD buy it, but I cant. No wonder how SOE destroyed PS... :D

Orangemann, which Post do you mean? Yesterday I found a Post about using an old Launcher with an Trial Option, but this Launcher does automatically Update to the newer one and doesn't work. But maybe you are refering another Post..

For me it is not really a point if its worth to play PS. Years ago PS was the best Gaming Experience I've EVER had, so i just wanna play 1Month or less again because if PS Next really gets released, I'm sure they Shut down PS1.

Ok, very simple. Download Station Launcher: http://launcher.station.sony.com/

Install, Login. Then click on planetside and you can subscribe. See you ingame. :-)))

If you have the money, resub. The fights are still there, and after coming back from a year off I was surprised at how many were playing. Still not where it used to be with giant bridge battles on one continent and several other things to fight over on another, but it's still worth it.
Just be prepared for people to hunker down in base and not come out to fight.
