I came back to investigate Planetside, was delighted to see that a surge in pop happened a month or 2 ago, got my hopes up for PS:Next but after seeing many past disappointments with this game and other SOE products with Smedley at the helm, I came back down to reality.
There are many hardcore fans here and I am going to call Smed out and say maybe he's promising you the world to get a few more subs out of you. Just like how he promised SWG fans and EQ2 fans. Lets face it.. hes a bureaucrat. Maybe once upon a time, he was one hell of a visionary and game designer but you need only to look at the facts and failures by his hand in the past. Maybe he turned a new leaf?? Hope so for anyone's sake, but realize he's not the genius behind Planetside. The original devs were. With that said, you have to at least ask, who's working on this dreamy game that is being promised to us??
So Smed.. Prove me wrong, I challenge you. Give us something more than recycled, college-level 3D renders because given your reputation, I am not convinced. Do a little more than send one of your minions that probably has never even touched PS to write a 1 dimensional producer letter.
How about these original Planetside guys that you brought back? Can we hear from them instead? I'd rather hear from them before I can consider PS:N a firm reality.
