I agree SOE has let us down in the past let's see what happens before we get too excited about this. They could walk out and say yup we are making PS2 but we sold it to activision so it will be more like WoW. I also really don't like this sense of entitlement I've been reading here. SOE owes us jack shit. They are a company and they are making a product. We as consumers have the choice to purchase that product. This isn't some taxpayer funded program. This isn't some sort of settlement we won in a court case.

We should "demand" the best out of them? Why? Because they are curing cancer? We should encourage the best out of SOE, but we are their customers thats it.

Sure, alot of us are emotionally invested in this new game because of our love for the previous one and that nobody else is making a game like this so we don't have another option at this time. Let's just draw the line at acting like little kids begging for cotton candy and throwing a temper tantrum when we are told "Not until after lunch".

I see what you are saying. I guess I just feel we are holding the son responsible for the sins of the father. Yeah it's still the same company, but PS2 is a new game, so we should wipe the slate clean to an extent, but still not forget about the mistakes learned from the original.

I totally agree that companies need to be held responsible for what they do, and thats what was done with regards to PS1. The subscribers dropped considerably to almost nothing while games like WoW are still going strong.

Normally I couldn't give more than a squirt of piss what you think about what I say. Pretty sure this qualifies as one of those times. However, whether anyone agrees or disagrees, love me or hate me (like I fucking care), we should all bear in mind that SOE has a historically-SHITTY track record with games. Yes, okay, they gave us Planetside. So? Casey Anthony gave birth to a beautiful little girl. And what's she done? Are you all not afraid that PS2 will be a screaming abortion or worse, a mongoloid retard? There are no other MMO-FPSes - if they fuck PS2 up, we're done for. It's back to e-sports and instanced-based lobbies like Global Agenduh.

What I wish would happen from everyone is this: hold the people accountable. Don't settle. Don't be a fucking sheep. What would you all rather have happen? A mediocre pile of shit that we have to beg and plead to get fixed AFTER it's done, which will take years, or have it done right and keep SOE walking the line?

SOE just took one up the ass like a porn star. They had a huge round of layoffs. They're closing games and studios and RIF'ing personnel in an effort to stay afloat. They can either go the way of EA-Mythic (Smedley I hope you're reading this, signed ex-Bioware/Mythic dev) or they can get it right and KEEP it right, and keep paying customers.
