Help with Flash 5

yeh... Im havin some trouble with flash 5 (making a animated intro to my Chaos Warriors site), I got most of it down but the Fade aspect is killing me! I cant seem to make anythign fade in/fade out! If anyone here knows how to use flash 5 can you PLEASE tell me how to make text/pics fade in/fade out.

lol, I tried to mess with flash once, failed miserbly. I tried out http://www.swishzone.com/index.php <- swish. which is an automated system. Works fairly well unless your getting too fancy.
