Iv never cared much for story in MMO's i skip reading every quest ever in an mmo, unless it does not give me a red circle or X to go killstuff and i have to read it to find the stupid clay pots north of the giant river but south south west of some pole. but planetsides lore is so short, why not read it i say.

But what everybodys predictions on the story of planetside, they're talking continents again and essentially reinventing the original.

im gonna guess what we experienced in PS1 was taking place on the other worlds as we already know, all while the events in PS2 begin pretty much right after the bending on the original auraxis.

The way i understand it is that Planetside actually never happend. There never were caves, no beding, no BFRs.

Right now in Planetside 2, Auraxis is a single big Planet with several continents on its surface. Some, if not all continents of Planetside are there, and apperently base names will even be just as before (means forseral will have a Dagda), but it will be different somewhat i assume, not 1 to 1 copys of the old continents. On top of that, also new continents.

Now, part of their plan post release is to add new planets with new continents.

Well from the original story I always loved -
The planet Auraxis is really a giant sentient machine that's left over after the original Vanu extinction and it's preforming some new experiments..... & we're the unsuspecting lab mice. :D

For Planetside 2 as Basti said SOE are probably leaving out everything from CC on wards.
The planets cut off from Earth and the colonists we're on there own, no longer under threat of the Terran Republics massive armed forces society breaks down into three factions and the beautiful world of Auraxis turns into the grand war stage, as JS himself said at the panel, while there are Urban zones in the game.... "is it right to call the ruined Terran cities Urban zones?" ;) (Can't wait to try out those Urban zones btw, been a big advocate of them)

Beyond that we'll have to wait and see just what has survived the "first" war.
