I was thinking of getting PS again and playing it. I'd have to find a outfit and all but I remember most of the fun started to die down after the reserves ended do to less people.

Did you use those free 45 days given by SOE due to the network outage? If not sign in and you can use it starting now.

but I'd still have to rebuy the game. I don't know why but D2D doesn't seem to remember me buying it. lol. I'd just like to know how the pops and fights are before I rebuy.

Cyssor last night was poplocked for around 8 hours with a amazing epic battle between the TR - VS & NC

There was a queue to get into Cyysor of about 20 people for the TR when I logged on, ended up in a second fight on Ish that was pretty fun until all the NC left Cyysor to come stop us. :(

This is just about right.

Legit all sunday the servers were packed. all 3 empires had a poplock and atleast on TR there was another cont with 60 spots remaining.

Best time i had in planetside in years yesterday. :groovy:

Come back on and play. I can see only more people coming back as they hear about planetside 2

I don't have any experience with D2D, but if you have an account with SOE that has a 45 Day Non-Recurring subscription for PS you should not need to purchase the game.

Download the game from http://planetside.station.sony.com/download.vm and sign in with your existing account.

The Pops are up, the fights are worth it. Even though there are say maybe 1,000 players, When your in the middle of a red Alert Battle, There's no difference between 1,000 and 10,000

thanks for this info. I'ma give it a shot. lol

and its nice to hear that the Pops seem to be well again.
after PS2 comes out, I hope they bring back the reserves for PS1. Heck just make people pay $1 with a CC to activate the game so they can ban the CC if they hack. it would keep the pop up.

I wouldn't be surprised if they close down PS soon after PS 2 comes out. It seems, at least to me, that the only thing that has kept PS alive for the last few years despite the dwindling population is the fact that SOE was planning a sequel. Once it's out, I doubt they will find it worthwhile to keep the PS server up.

Then again, SOE currently supports both Everquest and Everquest 2 while working on another game in the series, so you can't be sure.
