Windows compatibility mode issue

Hey all. bout a year and a half ago when I was running windows vista 64 bit, I attempted to resub to Planetside. the game loaded fine onto my rig, but as I was at the loading sanctuary screen the blue bar would get up to about 75% and suddenly the game would shut down giving me an error screen in the process (I don't remember what the screen said but it was coincidental with a windows compatibility issue). I then changed my compatibility mode to XP as this is what many forums said would fix the issue, but to no avail. I was wondering if Windows 7 64 bit would be better in compatbility mode. A friend from work said the compatibility mode on 7 is a hundred times better than Vista and that I shouldn't have a problem this time around. Any thoughts? :doh:

I have Win 7 64-bit and never have issues running PS and I do not need compatibility mode. Even my Vista 32-bit did not need the mode though it would crash every few hours due to loading different conts. Have you played recently? Supposedly PS is Vista/7 capable now.
