I have a fairly decent system yet I keep dropping down to 30-40 fps on base fights. Anyone know some tricks for cranking up your FPS?

To be honest I cannot read DXDiag for info regarding performance issues as I know some people actually can. Coming from your system you should not be struggling at all with this game. I had an E8400 and 8800 GTS 512 (GT's bigger brother) and ran the game with no issues whatsoever, even my Athlon II and 4770 run this game fine (about the same specs as your rig).

Are you having any problems in other games? I can think of a few potential fixes. Do a fresh driver install with the latest Nvidia drivers. Make sure your CPU/GPU isn't overheating as either of them could be down clocking to avoid burning out. Make sure there isn't a huge build up of dust in the computer and that the CPU heastink seated properly. The CPU heatsink should not be move able, but feel like it is glued on the motherboard. If you do not have a SSD but a HDD, defragging that maybe the issue too.

It's definitely a PCIe card. AGP status does not mean what you think it means.

But 30-40fps in a base fight? I don't think you've actually got any issues. Even mine dips that low every so often. (i5, 4gb ram, gtx275).
If there's really an issue it's a broken driver install or conflicting program, most likely.

It's not like that should be anything more than an aesthetic bother, if you can even tell the difference.
