When I visit the PSU site from my android phone, namely the forums, I get a pop up bugging me about "Talatalk" the forum app. I assume they are a sponsor in some way, supporting the site because their app isn't free ($3), which is great because the site needs to pay its bills etc.

The issue I have is the pop up happens two times on everything new forum page for me. So I go to a News Article thread, I have to hit 'Cancel' 'Cancel'. Then I go to page two of the same thread, same thing 'Cancel' 'Cancel'. It makes browsing the forums without, I assume, this app too cumbersome to be worth it.

If possible I'm like to see it only pop up once per new page, rather then twice. Ideally once per site visit should be enough to present the product, but I would understand if that cut into the ad deal somehow.

Thanks for the great site either way.

{ details:
Android OS 2.2.2
Dolphin Browser HD 6.0

The exact pop up is:

Nope, not a sponsor or anything. We just have the files needed to support using the app to read the forums installed on the site.

I will look into the js problem, though I can't reproduce it on my Android. I'll have to explore it a bit to see if anything can be done.

Edit: I found the double popup issue, it was called twice. Another issue though, if you turn off "Accept cookies" in the browser settings, the popup can't set a cookie to tell itself to stay disabled. Not quite sure of a workaround at the moment. Will investigate further.

Are you browsing without cookies?

Edit 2: Are you logging in while browsing? It might be possible I can add an option to your userprofile that will allow you to disable it, otherwise without cookies I'm not sure how to keep it from popping up.

Looking at my setting it does seem that I wasn't accepting cookies, makes sense given the issue I was having. The browser seems to have defaulted that way, and so far no other real issues to speak of so I think I'll just leave alone until I have other issues. I don't see any reason to hold onto extra tracking cookies on my phone while not using any of their noteworthy features, that I'm noticing at least (I only go to a few sites while mobile anyway).

Glad we fixed a site bug, however small it was, so good work there.

Thanks for looking into the issue, and if possible the no pop ups while logged in might be a good solution in general if its not too much extra work. I assume there will be even more traffic here in the near future and mobile is big out there so we all hear.
