I think the biggest thing that has me wound up is waiting for some kind of info on cloakers beyond that were going to have a lot of fun. I know their revamping cloaking (thank god) but that's about it. Since they were talking about having a deployable camera I'm guessing cloakers are going to get a lot of toys but I'd love to some more about them.
It appears that my nightly sacrifices to Lord Zotz have gone unrecognized. Maybe I need Vanu blood to get more cloaker info. Any Vanu want to oblige? :D

First Point: There has been a cloaker in EVERY game-play screenshot... duh. :p
Second: I really don't think the game play of the cloaker can evolve very much beyond the basics that it already is. You shall run around stabbing people in the back, shooting them in the back and causing general chaos in bases with high explosives and hacking abilities. I've given it some thought, but I can't think of anything else I might want to do as a cloaker.
Where are these cloakers everyone keeps talking about in the screen shots? Am I just that blind?

Yeah cloakers fill 3 main spots.
Ninjas. The snipers natural predator, and general cause havoc around the base guy.
Saboteurs. Go inside bases and take out gens. Hopefully there are more targets for such people in PS2. Pretty much any 'service' not provided by players, such as OSs or scans, etc, should have a physical entity on the continent that can be destroyed to disrupt their use.
Recon. Relay troop movements to high command, or spot things for arty. I used to happily sit on top of a base antenna calling out gals leaving for people in my squad in reavers, or i'd roam the countryside in a wraith looking for AMSs and Lodestars. Spotting was kinda sucky though, with the laze being highly visible. The mission system should make this a much more profitable venture. In PS1 it was rather akin to charity work. Got nothing for it except the warm fuzzies.

If you use the darklight plugin in photoshop it makes them visible.

That's what I use
Well I guess I need to download it because I'm cloaker starved. I want to see their cloaking in action at the least. I have a feeling though that cloakers are going to be evolving in their role a bit more. Specifically their infiltration tools have always been rather lacking (REK, EMP nade).
Just putting some more tools out there for us would do wonders for increasing our effectiveness.

If you see them in action, doesn't it mean they're doing it wrong? :D
Lol I sincerely hope their visible when their moving. At least for the enemies sake. :)

Well it would be something to work on in a skill tree, progressively making yourself slightly less visible to the naked eye when moving, I could see that working, obviously never fully visible but it makes sense a more experienced cloaker might know more tips of the trade, so to speak.
I've always had the warm-fuzzies for cloakers, they're pretty darn unique and every time I play one it's a thrill. I do hope people do right by them in PS2.

I'm not sure if you're being over-serious or if the joke went completely over your head.
I would love to see more gadgets for cloaking and as someone else mentioned, more targets for destruction. One thing I would like to see is an upgraded boomer that literally takes up your entire inventory (or main weapon slot/ammo because inventories are gone). It would take about as much time as a granny hack on a base to set up, and when set up was about as powerful as a cr5 OS. And even if it wasn't THAT powerful, it would be nice to see something just alittle more effective than a boomer. I figure if you can sneak into an enemy base passed multiple turrets/mines/sensor shields/tanks/softies/friendly fire, than you deserve to atleast be able to blow up one tank at at least half-health
:D
They also need to figure out a way of doing it where turning up the gama on your monitor doesnt give you free DL

I know it's a hardware or net issue, but I really miss the days of "Boomer Art".
Like covering a whole corner of a base with boomers, or covering entire walls, entire tower staircases. It was overkill, but when that one enemy first sees it, there's usually a long pause, then an awesome kill or a quick retreat lol.

I don't know if I'm alone in this, but does anyone think they should eliminate the Darklight implant in PS2, or at least make it far more costly or far less effective? I admit I'm biased, since I mostly play as a cloaker, but it got really ridiculous at times. Being good at sneaking means nothing if the guy around the wall can pop his darklight and see you plain as day in third pers- ALL GLORY TO HYPNOTOAD.

Darklight doesn't work in third person.

I think DL is reasonably balanced in PS. The short range is a pretty decent limitation.
Remember, bases are expected to be larger inside this time, hopefully with more nooks and cranny's, not just hallways.

Pretty sure they are giving cloakers more utility in PS2. For instance it was mentioned they would have a device that would allow them to put a hidden camera in a location and be able to see the camera feed. Let's not take away something like darklight, let's just give the cloakers something better to counter act it.

Considering the concept art and their indication that we'll see more urban style fighting I have a feeling the new bases are going to be more like sprawling complexes with buildings and streets to fight in. Should provide a lot more access points for cloakers.

Oh hey look a cloaker, hold my hat while I point blank him with my rifle.
