I need a new game to hold me over until PS comes out. I've been playing Sim City off and on since the original version. I also have p4 2.4 ghz with 64 MB GeForce 3 meaning my computer should be able to handle the game fairly well. Should I buy Sim City 4 or another game?

was never a fan of sim city, I played SimCity3000 but couldnt get the hang of it.
RTS: C&C generals is ment to be pretty good.
FPS: Battlefield1942 is a nice break from the rocketjumping lameness of all the other FPSs out there
RPG: EQ is cool if you have 2 years of your life to spare
Misc: black&white is nice game, part Age of empires and part populos.
MiscFPS: Hitman2 is well worth the money, but I sugest just borrowing it from a friend cos its a pretty short game.

I was also a big fan of all the other sim city parts, except the first one, so offcourse I bought sim city4. And it sucked pretty much. Tho so many others who have played it seems to have loved it, I hated it, nothing to do. Or if you want a fun game and was a fan of Quake, maybe you should try RtCW, coz in MP its pretty fast and fun. You know Deus Ex? Its old but its still the best game ever made IMO, Deus Ex is a rpg and fps game. Or when Deus Ex:invisible war comes out, buy that, its going to be twice more fun than DOOM3 IMO.

I've played all the SC games and loved SC4 as well. The problem with it was that once you got a decent sized city things got really choppy and, at least for me, it made it less fun. No, I don't have a wimpy computer either! It's just a very detailed game. I think sc2k is still my fav. :)

Everquest is fun but I hear verant screwed it up beyond repair in the past year or so. I played in the goods days before the nerfing spree. They kept changing classes little by little making one class better than the others so they nerfed it to useless then another was the best they nerfed it till useless and it went on and on so I said F it and quit when they started changing AC

I like SimCity 4. It's very difficult towards higher populations though. Excellent graphics, music. I have 35k people, a Casino, a Baseball Field, a University, a Private School, and lots of cool stuff.

I hope this goes through, and I hope I am not repeating anything, cause my internet is SHIT atm, took 8 minutes to load this part alone. ISP issue, and they cant figure it out...
Anyhoots, SimCity4...
I have a P4 1.8gighertz system
512megs DDR Ram
Nvidia GeForce4Ti4600 Card
WinXP
Audigy2 Sound Card
Yadda Yadda Yadda
The game runs like CRAP. I get over a 30k city.. and unless I down grade ALL the nice graphics, it bogs. I had a 150k city that I could NOT run unless I toned the graphics back to bare minimums. I havent played since.
I do NOT like most of the changes made to the game. Its... I can make a city that has low-medium traffic problems.. but then my sims wont use my Mass Transit, none of it. The cost of running your city is ludicrious... I ended up using the 1k cheat and that got old REAL fast.
Bottom Line, too muh micro-management coupled with a really SHITTY graphics engine = not worth the money.

if you looking for something to play, and you have Half-Life, download Day Of Defeat. Its a mod, and its pretty good. If not, i agree with TimberWolf and say you go with BF1942 since its pretty similiar to PS and its fun:D

Everquest seems alot less fun now, though lots more newbie friendly.
I to remember the good ole days.
SC 2k was a great game.
