Shooting Through Vehicles

Just wondering if it is gonna be possible to shoot throgh a vehicle to kill the pilot. Like shootin a galaxy pilot with a bolt driver and bringing every one down with him. Pretty sure it wont be in the game but thougt it would be sweet

You can shoot through glass, and through the open-air buggies. I don't think that the Galaxy/Reaver/Skeeter can have their pilot killed. Even if they could, it would be very hard.

The Reaver is armored. The galazy pilot can be shot out from the galaxy BTW.

nice that sounds awesome. I was hoping you could do this, but with no separate hit locations i wasnt sure.

btw doesnt the galaxy auto land if the pilot is killed? i thought i read/heard that somewhere.

Yes, the galaxy autolands. The misquito can have it's pilot killed by shooting through the glass, be a little hard to do from the ground though.

No hit locations doesn't matter. Glass in the game is probably just a visual effect (as far as the game is concerned, nothing's there), like clouds and grass, although those can be used for cover and therefore have a use.

That's gonna be awesome, though I wish teh galaxy would crash if the guy was killed.

Phoenix, those wouldn't be too hard to drive into someone's cockpit.

Bolt Driver, If you have good aim...if you don't go with some sort of explosive projectile;) ie Phoenix/Decimator

Well, I would use the Bolt Driver is I wanted to kill someone in a vehicle.

Any weapon could work. A mini-chaingun or punisher or decimator.

Why not? ANY weapon could work well. AI max would probably do the best to kill the pilot

I think AA MAXes are more suiting for destroying the aircraft, not killing the pilot.

u probably could do it in terran but nc probably not. The missles just lock on as nc so u cant really aim. Terran the flak could probably get them though.

This is just an assumption here.. but if it says Amor Piercing.. wouldn't it be able to Pierce Armor??

So if u had say a BD (assuming they AP) and shot threw the wall of a Galaxy and the guy is pretty hurt and u get lucky and hit him (not teh pilot but someone inside) wouldn't that be able to kill him also??

you can shoot a person in a vehicle if it is open cockpit or window. stuff like tanks you cannot.

The Beamer is the handy sidearm of the Vanu Sovereignty. It uses energy cells instead of regular ammunition, and thus has some flexibility over other sidearms. It can be converted from a regular energy blaster to a more focused, armor piercing shot that consumes more energy. Thus, it is good for regular close-in firefights as well as a reasonable anti-vehicular weapon.

Does anyone know anything about hit locations on vehicles. Particularly Skeeters/Reavers. Will consentrating fire on say a wing cause more damage or effect it in any other way? Can you shoot tires out? Derail tank tracks? :groovy:

I think the glass should matter, i.e make the shot less effective, or snipers would end up getting so good that the slow moving galaxy would get constantly picked on

Its going to be hard to hit the driver anyway, unless you are really high up on mountain/hill you wont have the height and therefore will only be able to see the underside of the vehicle. If its low enough for you to see the driver then the chances are if you do hit him its going to be low enough for the vehicle to land or crash without any major damage

Any vehicle with a window or thats open the pilot can be shot. The rest can't

i don't think that you can shoot through windsheilds, because the vehicles don't have different hit boxes, and i think that the people inside are part of the vehicle. I think this question has been brought up before, and i think you can only shoot people in open cockpit vehicles, like buggies. I would assume that in the future, the glass is unbreakable. My question is, can you shoot through walls, and can you shoot through people. In CS, i got 400% accuracy with a scout one round (in rats, there's a path that all of the CTs have to follow to not get burned by the stove), because i shot through 4 peoples heads with one shot. I did a total of 700 damage that round, that was fun. I wonder if i will be able to lance like 20 people, cause that would be insane

I'd say any of the vehicular cannons, machine guns, 'n MAX guns would be best for shootin' the glass. Or an entire Mosquito. The whole thing. Aimed straight at it. Like a big flying pro-jec-tile.
