I was recently banned from command chat by GM-ChrolNC, and when i asked why i was being banned, he/she proceeded to ignore me and not tell me why i was. this is outrageous customer support where they let hackers play and when i dont do anything, i get banned from chat.http://i1113.photobucket.com/albums/k514/Whoknowswhat1/gm.jpg
I pay to get 2 answers...... "really" "thats amazying"

This is why SOE is way behind in Customer Support. Atleast Blizzard Emails you with proof of what you did.
To many times CSRS on planetside would ban people for no reason. And im pretty sure you know who im talking about. - DanB
And the way he said Thats Amazying. thats not professional at all.
Considering I know how you are in command and in global. You Never talk in it. So This would have to be a very good reason for a ban.
Sounds like a CSR is trolling you. I would get a hold of one of the CSR superivsor/managers to see what the hell is going on. I do not know what you may have done do have that happen, but that is pretty bad CS service regardless if you were being punished.

If i was banned for legit reasons, i would man up and take the punches, but because i wasnt, it just pisses me off. i never talk in global or command chat while other people do stupid stuff in it. all i want right now is a reason why i was banned.
i dont even want to play now because of this, its just dumbfounding that the support is that bad that they dont even tell you what you did, and how he logged off and didnt respond after i asked him what was amazing what just unprofessional.

i have played for almost 8 years. I have never been silenced once. im 100% sure Whoknowsme said nothing to deserve it. Its seriously a joke. SOE should atleast tell you a reason. But just saying Really? Amazing. This pisses me off
Good thing the Patriots game is on tonight. I wont be playing.

Just received this email
Greetings Whoknowsme,
This is GM Jiiehmu responding to your petition. Thank you for contacting us. After investigating, it would appear you were silenced due to in-game profanity. I suggest you take a look at the KB article I linked below for more information. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

That is all he/she said in the Screen shot, nothing else
Is that the stupid CSR who is always silencing people due to profanity? I remember there was quite a few people who got slapped with some kind of punishment for doing "profanity" early part of the summer on NC. This was when there were hackers running around and the CSR didn't even pay any attention to that. Great service isn't it? Just about every CR5 in c chat from what I see lets a few words out every now and then. There are those who do it quite often and just spam it up. Might as well silence the entire CR5 population.
Did you contact him then over tells?

I like how he was silenced "for profanity" and his screen cap of his conversation is interrupted by someone using the word "fuckery" in Global.

1. Foul language is not permitted, in any language.
Excessive use of foul language in an inappropriate context, including swear words, real-world racial slurs, and other language that is not consistent with the fantasy environment and designed to hurt, will be considered a disruption. The existence of the filter (/filter) is not a license to be profane.
The rule says excessive. I would assume you would have known you were being excessive in profanity.

From the standpoint of a former CSR - presuming SOE has similar policies to Mythic - they don't patrol in-game chat. I've said this a bajillion times, most of it in this very board. It probably takes being reported by another player.
Well. Unless you're CSR-DanB, who very probably wasted SOE's payroll by doing nothing except surfing chat looking for stuff to ban. I bet he's the exact same kind of dude who gets beat up in high school and then joins the police force.
Speaking of. I saw him cruising the forums as BREWKO about two weeks ago. Presuming that's really him. Wonder if he reads all the comments about him and goes home to punch the clown whilst crying into his pillow and listening to Bay City Rollers.

Quick update... i finally recieved this email after a couple hours
Hello,
You said the following:
2011-08-15 06:10:42 [06:10:04], Command, whoknowsme, F*** D*** S*** C***
Regards,
Senior GM Volom
so on monday august 16th, i said 4 swears, and a little under a month later they act on it...
It seems that their reason to silence was warranted and necessary, besides the fact that i ran into several brick walls in trying to find out what i did to get the silence, it would seem i am guilty, and will take it as such
P.S. i do not remember saying this, probably because i was in Maine for vacation at the time.

Wow, that's a douche move. Perhaps SOE is doing a training film for the new CSRs on duty for PS2 on how NOT to act as a CSR?
Or perhaps DanB got a promotion?

What's a douche move? That it took a month? Or that SOE actually enforced policy? Like Whoknowswhat said, it came off his account and he got caught. So he manned up and is taking it. The world would be a better place if more people were like this, instead of nerd-raging and crying about how they got punished for something. I'll agree that it's a douche move that it took a whole month - that's ridiculous, there's no way this should take so long. I won't agree that it's a douche move that they enforced policy. I applaud SOE and any other company that enforces the rules. My guess is, like I've said before, that the CSRs do not police in-game chat.

I strongly recommend contacting them in exactly one week, with that email. There's a thread in this board a few pages down about a guy that got busted for cheating, or something. I forget exactly what, I wanna say that's what it was. AnywayZ he got his suspension lifted.
Do that, and reply each time they contact you (making sure that your email contains, below your message, a chronological listing of their replies). Don't be abusive, vindictive or any of that emo neckbeard nerdrage horseshit. Don't be snotty, don't be trite. At worst take a neutral tone, at best take an apologetic and thankful tone. It never hurts to grease the wheel by adopting a submissive tone.
And let it be a lesson - A) don't break the rules, and B) safeguard your account from others (to address something you mentioned earlier). You're responsible for what goes on with your account. Maybe it wasn't you, maybe it was an asshole relative like a younger brother. But regardless, they were on your log-in which means it's your responsibility.

Heh. I actually lol'd. It's not a bother at all - I don't necessarily agree with vulgarity/profanity punishment. I agree with having to follow policy, but that doesn't mean I agree with it. So what, you said shit or damn or hell. Big deal. The policy is dumb, and yes you got busted but I can certainly try and help you out by guiding you through the process. Now granted, I do not now nor have I ever worked for SOE so I really have zero idea what their policies may be, but there's a general similarity between most CS policies. And considering what an abusive cunt CSR-DanB/BREWKO (http://www.planetside-universe.com/forums/member.php?u=14467) was... anything I can do to help add positive karma is a necessary step.
PS (from his profile):
Friends BREWKO has not made any friends yet

The reason I think the policy shouldn't be enforced unless a lot of complaints come in is because of 1. You can add people to your ignore list and 2. There's something called a profanity filter.
Just my 2 cents.

Again speaking strictly from a non-SOE CSR position... (caveat disclaimer: I did not work for SOE which may have different official policies blah blah blah) neither of those excuse vulgarity on the part of other features. Additionally, the ignore and filter commands are usually coded long after the player code of conduct, terms of service, and eula are drafted. Which means no thought is given to whether or not you can just yell f***ot, n***er, fuck shit damn or hell. Ignore can be circumvented, as can the filter. I can't tell you the number of people I've actioned for vulgarity in public channels who trot out that defense. Wanna know exactly how many had their punishment abated?
Zero.
And on more than one occasion in Planetside, the ignore feature has not blocked out ignored people's messages in /c or /g.

Hmm, sounds like a broken feature that should have been fixed with sub. money.
Quite possibly, but here's the thing: QA teams evaluate broken features on a tiered priority scale. What you deem as important may not be what they deem as important. Once they get to that particular item, they spend a fair amount of time investigating problems and determining whether or not they are broken, then they spend a fair amount of time figuring out how and why they are broken. Then they figure out a fix. Then they send it up to the devs to get fixed.
Then the devs go through the entire process wash, rinse, repeat ad nauseum. If it's game-breaking it will get fixed fairly quickly depending on how bad it is and how quickly the players are vocally outraged (hint: ranting about it on gaming forums, especially unofficial ones, counts for only a little). If it's not game-breaking, like having blocked you because you're a foul-mouthed bigot and still seeing you in command chat, which I can turn off, that's low priority I'd imagine.
Regardless, none of that excuses one simple fact: vulgarity, profanity and obscenity are against the terms of service. Use it all you want, but be prepared for consequences if someone decides to report you or CSR-DanB happens to be playing Global Police.

GM-Chrol is the same GM that suspended me for 3 days for racist globals once.
However, I have respect for him because during the horrible hacking escapades that transpired for about 2 years he would always answer my appeals swiftly and band the hackers within a few minutes.
I agree that "thats amayzing" isn't very professional. They should always state exactly what you did. But perhaps what you did was so outrageous it didn't need an explanation.
