When I first registered with soe I was only 10 years old (in 2002), so I used a fake name and birthdate to get my account. Well now I feel the need to have real info on there. Does anyone think that I would get my info changed if I went to customer support, or would I get my account banned/suspended? I'm just looking for opinions, unless you happen to know firsthand.

My guess is SOE would be more likely to suspend your account than not. The first reason is the obvious: falsifying details (they might be a bit tetchy about someone under 13 signing up without parental consent). The second is they may suspect you're trying to sell the account.

Either start over... or don't worry about it. The only time it can really hurt you is if you have to prove that YOU are Dr. Gordon Freeman Jr.

Yeah I guess it really doesn't matter. Still, if anyone has any firsthand knowledge of how they would react i'd love to hear it.

There was someone here that posted about being banned one time for trying to sell his account. I do believe the title had ban in it so you could do a search and ask him about it. He didn't give details about it really in the thread.

You could try talking to them on the phone. Thats the only thing. You may have to fax in your ID just to make sure they know its you.

Its not that I can't prove who I really am, it's that I don't really think I can prove I didn't buy/trade/obtain the account. I don't have my original key, and I don't have my original credit card, so there's not much to go on there.

No real input on your exact situation, but what I do know is that SOE is a bit notorious for being very random and inconsistent in the application of their rules.
People I know from in game who had accounts banned while they were un-subbed and inactive with no explanation or clear response from several support tickets, to posts i've seen on cheat-site's forums about blatent hackers getting several 1-2 week suspensions but never a perma-ban.
I'd simply not risk it.
