View Full Version : A sense of recognition on the battlefield.
I think this would be a neat little addition to Planetside 2. If any of you have ever played WWIIOL, on their homepage on the side there would always be some article about a specific player 'answering the call of duty' or 'Harnessing true bravery against impossible odds', usually depicting a scenario where the player engages multiple enemies, and what the outcome of the conflict was.
For instance, one scenario would depict a lone tank against multiple tanks and some field guns, and actually destroying all of them(lets say there were 9 of them), or sometimes they would be killed in action.
Im sure we can all reflect on our PS1 careers and recall a very small handful of very epic 'finest hours' where you just tore stuff up and wondered how you made it alive in the end... wouldn't it be great to be recognized for such epic tales?
Im sure there would be ways of tracking this, or possibly even have a certain branch of commanders be able to have the task of recognizing such feats, and also have possible merits for players who are recognized on a global scale, maybe we could even have an in game 'news ticker' that we could read while on downtime or in our outfit HQ base etc.

Sounds good.
The more of this type of thing we have the better, these little things aren't really needed but they do give the game some depth and a little more feeling overall. You feel a little more attached to your faction.
It would be cool if the kills for each day with each weapon are added up, and then whoever got the most got a title for the next day, or special looking armour or something.
Nice, random little stuff that adds some depth to the game.
I also think an in game message system would be great, with the ability to send messages to offline players which will be read the next time they log on.

I won't agree with this until there's a Big-ass Cape as a reward.

I would love for after-the-action videos to be available. This would make it easier to involve a larger pool of people in catching cheaters.
And the leaderboard would, as happens any time cheating is aggressively prosecuted, plummet in the standings.

This feature will seem quite useless once I am listed every day.

Until you get banned for cheating. If you weren't cheating, you wouldn't have much real competition if Sony persecutes cheaters effectively.
How about Sony makes it so you have to sign a contract with Sony that states that you are entering into a legal agreement to never, ever cheat, or use a computer that has cheats installed on it.
See that part there? Where it says "I will pay Sony $1000 per month, ad infinitum, if it is proven that I, or my account, was involved in cheating at this game." Sign, please. Exaggeration, I know.
Then, once you were found cheating, you could be brought into court for breach of contract!
Yeah! I'm liking this! As an attractive alternative to this, you could just agree to never play the game again. Thus cleaning the server for people who are not cheaters.

You sound like a real winner. Based on your other posts on these forums, it sounds like you're gonna be really good at this game and never complain at all. If you're calling me a cheater on a forums, I wonder how many people you call cheaters in any other game. You most likely yell it every time you die.

While I like the sound of this, I'd rather see it based on squad, platoon or Outfit level and not on the individual level.
