Q. 1) Is it possible to loot dead bodies? Like you kill a guy, and take his gun, and anyother supplies he has on him?
Q. 2) Is there mid-air collision? Like a dog fight, and 2 air craft smack into each other? And if 2 aircraft on the same side crash, will that count for grief points?

1.) yes.
2.) yes.
2 1/2.) currently, yes...but they're tweaking it so full galaxies don't auto-ban if they crash.

1) Yes, a coffin appears with ammo and what not.
2) I'm sure you can run into people in mid air, devs were working on grief system so we can't be sure how a team mid air collision would be handled.

Please read the FAQ, they have a wealth of information, and will answer many of your questions.
But the answers are thus:
1: Yes, you turn into a coffin, and you can loot that for anything that they had on them at the time of death
and 2: Yes, as we know that 1 galaxy running right into another will result in the loss of both crafts
edit:
 3 answers at the same time :D
Edit:edit:
and 1 more! alrgiht! we are all on top of things tonight

1) Yes you can loot the bodies after it turns into a coffin. The corpse will turn into a coffin as soon as the person desides to respawn instead of wait for a medic.
2) Yes you can colide, but as mentioned the grief system is being tweaked. But i would imagine only for the galaxy, not the other aircraft.
Edit: Me speak english good.....lemme fix that

Coffin?? What else happens, you turn into a ghost with wings, and fly up to the sky playing a harp? Or maybe a cartoon tombstone comes up , and a boquet of flowers pop out the top?
Sounds kinda goofy. A dead body would be all the more better.

Dead body = more pixels/polygons = higher latency = less fun

Remeber you can only use the weapons if your are certified in them so it might be worthless to leave yourself vurnerable while checking for a pretty gun.

Sounds kinda goofy. A dead body would be all the more better. Usefulness of coffins:
As stated before, you don't turn into a coffin untill you choose to respawn or a timer runs out. The reason is, you can still be revived by a medic. So turning into a coffin gives a good destinction for the medic to know that the guy can't be revived any more. I don't know about you, but if I was trying to revive people, only to find out that 90% of the ones I am trying to revive can no longer be revived...I'd be peeved. Following this same train of thought, if you really hate this one guy that you just killed, you can make sure he doesn't come back any time soon by guarding his body till he turns into a coffin :D.
And as stated before, there's less polygons to render, which makes it easier on your system (with hundreds of people dying all around you, would you really rather see hundreds of carefully rendered dead bodies instead of hundreds of easily rendered coffins?).

Yeah, it only just occured to me too. This might even be a tactic we could see in the game! When a really l33t player finally goes down, people might make sure he stays down by keeping the medics (who will know he's a l33t player and try to revive him) from reviving him.

or you slip a mine on [or in:blowup:], so teh medic comes by, bends down for CPR (for bulet holes?) and BABOOoooooM!

Hmmm - coffin camping.
I imagine it's utility is directly proportional to the distance from their nearest friendly spawn point. But I can sure see it happening.
On another vector, would there be any possible worth to purposely leaving a pile of corpses, so that a stealthy medic could come in and revive 'em - sort of a backhanded way of sneaking troops past the front line?
I'm guessing not (timers, showing up on radar right away, etc.), but you never know

Yeah, my locker will probably be full in a week with crap I'll never use. Lets see... Gauss, no.... Cycler, no... pulsar, no... ah, here we are, the decimator!!

Like the bank in EQ, or the vault in DAOC.
Basically a storage space for your stuff that isn't actually on your person.

I think they tell you where lockers are in the FAQ.
IIRC you will have access to your locker at friendly bases/buildings, and you will be able to hack enemy lockers to access your stuff.
