This piss anyone else off? These commercials should not see the light of day until at LEAST the day after Thanksgiving, even better yet the end of November.

The music station I listen to just switched over today to playing Christmas music. I will have none of that in November!

It really is annoying. I'm especially sick of Christmas music already. I had to take choir this semester to fulfill my vocal requirement for my major, and we've been practicing Christmas music since the beginning of August...

Pisses me off too. Seems to me like Stores don't even care about recognizing the other major holidays. I barely see anything related to Halloween where I live and Thanksgiving has maybe a turkey here and there. Other than that, it's HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the end of September to New Years. Also pisses me off that most stores don't even say Christmas anymore.

soon people just keep the christmas stuff out all year...people forgot the real reason for the time of year.

Yup, it's now 'Happy Holidays' instead of 'Merry Christmas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas)'... Can't go putting in religion into all that, too much conflict...

I heard Christmas music in the local FYE down here in Fayetteville. Granted that I don't have a TV, I don't have to worry about watching those commercials. When it comes down to it, part of the reasoning behind early Christmas advertising is that with the economy still down, people have less to spend up front so they try to push towards lay-a-way, as well with the most important single day of the year for retailers... Black Friday...
I guess I just don't care anymore. It's something that's going to continue for a long time to come.

It's bullshit, if I ran a store decorations wouldn't be up till the 13th day before Christmas.

Get over yourselves. The idea there's any kind of war on Christmas is hilarious when people are continually complaining the holiday is prominent throughout more and more of the year with "Christmas creep".
"Holidays" is a far better descriptor for the season as a whole to begin with. I know I celebrate at least 3 holidays every year from November through December. Only one of them is Christmas.
(for the record, I am athiest, and I love Christmas)

Yup. I don't even want to think about Christmas until December... then it's mince pies and Christmas movies ahoy!
I think the retailers really shoot themselves in the foot by putting them out too early, it dilutes both sales and the feel-good factor that increases them.

Well, it was like that for many retailers in the US a while back actually. It kinda makes sense because the US is has a mix of many cultures....

You can have your Christmas. My people celebrate Chanukah. I don't get all offended when you say "Merry Christmas" so don't get all pissy when I say "Chappy Chanukah".

Some are too excited for the Christmas season while some are not but whatever the reason and the season is it's the spirit of joy, sharing and loving that brings everyone close to each and everyone dear. Happy Holidays everyone! :D
