I have looked around but havent seen mention of this yet.

Is there going to be any option to play offline (obviously not a single player version before you flame me) but the ability to get into vehicles and stuff and practice....

A couple of threads about crashing and grief points brought this up and i wondered where the hell we get to practice flying withouth risking either valuable craft or people

Yes, somewhat new. We learned in the dev chat with Hamma and Dave G. that yes, there will be offline practice areas

Thats a good idea so you can get use to the controls before you play and get killed after 2 seconds :)

I haven't heard of any offline stuff, but you could always practice in the VR training area.

True, I was under the impression that there is a training area, but not off-line per se - you would connect to the server, but be in a non-combat area where you could go practice.

And VR simulators in games that are themselves VR is always amusing to me - like a play within a play.

I think I heard that you would be able to practice with other people in the VR, I assume that would mean servers so this information sounds bogus, unless there's one VR serevr in which case, it wouldn't be very organized for clans to practice there.

Well, I see some of this info was in the new interview. I was wrong, there certainly is an offline training bit.

I heard you can get to a lower battle rank by practicing with the weapons offline ... hopefully you can also use all empire weapons offline in order to learn the enemy's capabilities some.

eh, who needs a head shot with the jackhammer? A torso shot will work just fine :p

Will you be able to gain BR5 offline? That could lead to annoying hacking.

How ever, i think players should be able to make VR training servers to practice on. Select a base and small amount of area to practice maneuvers and defense/offense strats. Shouldnt be to hard to implement, i know its not there already. Just have it empire only with password protection, gain no bep or cep. Just a training area.

I dont know, maybe it would work, maybe it wouldnt. I dont think im making much sense tonight.

this hasn't been stated officially but the offline part won't let you advance a online char... beeing able to advance your char offline makes about as much sense as a squirrel raiding iraq.

Terran Elite Airborne Regiment

In the new update from sony it mentions the offline practice area and there is always the online training area (VR). In both cases i belive you have control of all certs.

if their is offline practice in the game ,then they should release the game a few weeks early so we can all practice offline :)

Well I always like practicing and actually know what i'm doing before I play a game like this, and to show that i've been reading almost EVERY tread i can find in the offical site and this one trying to get the lasted info on the game on the hows whats etc..... so the offline thing would be pretty cool

I would assume that the offline training would not involve getting BEPs.

If BEPs were available offline, all of your characters and the servers they are on would have to be available ofline aswell.

If your characters are available offline they will most certainly be hacked.

(also, this might cause problems for stat tracking)

I for one wont be using ofline anything, VR for the 1st few min so I can figure out what I want to go for, but other than that, I dont want to pay for a mmo and play single
