That's awesome that we bumped PS2 from a write in to an official option. Talk about getting the word out. PS2 went from a write in, to a 3rd place result (exposure) to an official option (more exposure).

I usually set up my Slave Machine and use a macro to cycle in votes in random increments ranging from 1 to 5 minuets and then just turn the monitor off and let it do its thing.

I don't like winning like this, but sometimes you have to get your hands dirty in order to "Just Win Baby!" Luckily for me my Corp. masters allow the employees to set up a VPN and have a very liberal open internet policy.

About your doubt, we provide two methods for publishers promotion usage. One is the game feature page like Archlord X http://event.mmosite.com/gameprize/?action=gameinfo&cid=25&gid=223, the other is a short of Javascript code. They can use just one or both these two methods to promote. For feature page, people have to come here to vote, or directly go to the category list to vote. If they use Javascript code to vote, people don't need to jump to the vote page http://event.mmosite.com/gameprize/?action=gameinfo&cid=25&gid=223, the Javascript program allows to click once to vote directly, and after successfully voted, each catogory the game is competing for will automatically add up 1 vote. So that's why the Archlord X feature page gets only 4493 clicks, but have 30,000+ votes. The 30,000+ votes are the total amount of all categories, including the votes for Most Anticipated MMO, Best F2P MMO and Best PVP MMORPG category.

After investigating and discussing, we decided to delete all votes in the date of Nov. 30th for Archlord X. We will inform Webzen about this problem first, and take action on it.

Don't need a botnet to do what Archlord did, even though its been explained as a website glitch and not an active effort to proxy or bot the vote.

All you need is some know how in setting up a slave machine, writing a quality script to loop, access to a Proxy Server, and know how to mask an IP and generate a large enough range that no IP value gets reused in a 24 hour cycle.

The defacto decision was that we were going to take the high road as a community and not game the system to ensure PS2 would win. I concur with that decision, and refrained from unleashing a realistically probable stream of macro'd votes.

Welcome. Yeah, I'm actually fairly skeptical that MMOsite will actually do something about it when they actually wrote an article freaking bragging about how Crossfire was getting so many votes and winning every catagory when that looks even more suspect than this Archlord crap.

FireFall does look pretty cool, and I was totally into it, then Planetside 2 got announced. Then it was like an old girlfriend that you haven't seen in years and she comes back and she's gotten a boob job and isn't crazy anymore and wants to get back together with you. So yeah, her and I have a history so we'll give it another go.

It would be nice to see a full spread of decent games in the top 3.

Guild Wars 2 makes sense as a top 3 contender and Tera looks mildly interesting for it's combat. I've got no problem with Firefall being a contender, as it makes for a nice rival to Planetside. Popularization of large scale FPS's can only help both games, I'm sure there will be a healthy number of people who will play them both. Firefall can hook em in by downplaying the MMO part, Planetside 2 can hook em in by playing it up. Together we can blow the lid off this fledgling genre.

As for the current 3rd place contender, once Archlord gets their shit kicked in, how is Repulse even an MMO? It claims to be one on it's official site, but I haven't been able to find any game info that corroborates that claim. You could make arguments for or against Firefall being a full fledged MMO, but it's got a hell of a lot more MMO qualities than Repulse appears to.

And what the fuck is Archlord anyways? Cheating bastards, that's what. Mediocre, rehashed garbage.

Yea i like the look of firefall, its looks refreshing as a shooter and an MMO, but in terms of PVP it looks to be all arena based, and im not sure im that into it. Iv done arena style games, skrimming in FPS and clan matches, it has it fun times and mega boring times and it seriously messes with the head doing that shit contantly.

I like Planetside, i like the thrill of hunting, never knowing whats out there or around the next corner or whats coming up behind you and jsut that epic feeling of constant war that only planetside can offer.

Crossfire is as close to an Counter-strike clone as you can get. They just took CS, and put some little MMO stuff on it. Graphics of that game are extremly outdated, and they even just took sounds of other games.

Archlord is a PVP oriented MMORPG. Granted, it got some followers, but look closer on the poll. SWTOR is there as well, now look how many votes that game got. There is a whole bunch of other games that are extremly light on votes, that should be high at the top.

Its a hoax, screw it.
