I do, and to be fair, if more people played you could still have some fantastic games. I was on lastnight, and there was a platoon of about 15/20 folks, and they where well organised, and that is something I aint seen for some time. It really made the night for me and I really enjoyed myself.
Good on you folks!
And yes I think PS still has it!!!
I just don't think the gamers have it. I would like to see the pops get back up to a good level.

PS still has Zazz man, undoubtedly so. i know i prefer it to the much more modern "Bubble-Battlefield" type wargames that are so unfortunately common right now. Had several enjoyable basefights over the past few weeks, although i'm fiending for another big armor fight. I'm a ground pilot, i gotta break me tank out once in awhile or i get sulky.
You are correct though, our empire populations are too low for that kind of thing to happen very often anymore. Don't let it get you down man. Just like Jesus, Planetside is going to bust it's tomb wide open and escape into the night, laughing maniacally.

Unlike some die hard fans, I don't like quite a few aspects of PS1. A lot of the game is done very well, but there are entire swaths of gameplay that feel very poorly implemented to me. While not every change that they are making for PS2 matches my preference, I am very excited about a lot of what they are doing and think it could potentially outshine my best memories of Planetside 1.
And yet, Planetside still has it. For all of it's faults, if Planetside had it's old populations on a regular basis, I would play the shit out of it. This is half of the reason I'm not concerned about Planetside 2 and am happy about it going F2P, because as long as they can get those giant populations and battles, I'm all in.
Planetside is about giant battles where you can actually feel like you are making a giant contribution that turns the tide of a massive conflict, or where you can just wander around as war rages on all sides. Planetside is about battles so extensive, that you can pull any class or vehicle and easily find somewhere that needs you.
Some people like Planetside for it's game mechanics and I can respect that, but for me, it's all about the scale.
Planetside may not have the massive numbers right now, but it still has the server capacity to support them if they came, so in that sense, it still has it. It will always have it.

Oh ya, this game still can be great. Just the pops suck as you said... Bout the only thing I think SOE would be willing to do, due to it being the least amount of time to spend doing it, would be to give free time to previous subs... But, that has been requested on SOE forums and Viraggo responded saying he would bring it up to the team but nothing since then.....

The game is still better than most FPS out there,as the large battles and actual use of tactics makes it epic... unforutantly most people cant see past the graphics to see its greatness,so the pop stays low, makeing it useless to play. Its still got it,just the pop is way too low for my likeing...which makes me sad as I really want a reason to play again

I also recently subbed again for a month. Hoping that christmas breaks will bring more people in again :D
But even a week ago the pop, while small, was still enough to enjoy some good fights. The 3-day 3-way on Ish was interesting. TR managed to hold on pretty well with both NC and VS pounding them from both sides of the base. Given, they had almost as much pop as NC and VS had combined.

Planetside hasn't had it ever since cheaters took it over, and Sony quit caring. That was about 7.9 years ago.
If Sony does the same this time, PS will die and cost them millions.
