Ok after reading the threads about looting and coffins i have a question:

Is it possible to frag a body so that they cant be revived?

In RTCW its the same, you can lay there waiting for a medic, but the opposition can frag your body forcing you to respawn.... this prevents all your hard work killing someone from being wiped out by some damn medic... or if its too busy or you dont have the ammo then you have to risk it

So can we have this ingame? Else its like previously suggested waiting for the medic and killing him too

I really hope it will be like that, couse its not very funny to kill someone and then 20 sec later it will b revived by a medic, and there are 2 people! And it isnt really real when u shoot a vanguards 150mm tank right at a boddy and it doesent gibb (cant be revived). RtCW rulz

Yeah even if they dont have the option to gib a body once dead at least it should have auto gib if you get a direct hit by some big fire power

Yup, if some unlucky person caught a shell in the chest, one would expect that various parts of them would be flung just about everywhere. Dead or alive, it doesn't matter, the result would be the same. Tho, I don't know how they'd get gibs in a teen rated game. (which is what they're aiming for)

well i wonder if the medic in PS is going to work like the RtCW medic. Is it going to take time to revive a player? or will the medic bust out his trusty life syringe and just revive a platoon of grunts while bunny hopping around enemy fire?

I believe that it takes a second or two to revive somebody. At least, I hope it does. What you described would be... evil :scared:

Cant kill a corpse no.
You can only lay there for so long before you turn to a coffin and are forced to respawn.
It takes a moment to revive someone, kill the medic while hes reviving.
I am gonna be a sniper medic personaly. Woo!

Pluss ya gotta assume that when the medic revives someone their armor will be shlep and they'll be low on ammo... Just healing the bod not the equipment, so let the medic get them, then frag'em for BEP before an engineer gets to em :)

i doubt you can "frag" the body. thing is, if there isn't a medic near by they're screwed. they would have to respawn leaving them a coffin with all stuff most likely to be stolen. medics will not always be around.

DAoC has that problem. You spend time killing a few people then run off and some healing class revives them in seconds. But the fact that you have to physically run up to the person in this game causes more danger for the medic instead of an RPG where you can resurrect from 1500 feet away.

I imagine there will be ways to "disintigrate" a body so that there is nothing left of it :D

Remember their going for a Teen rating so not bloody/guts/gore, ect. just a body. Though it would be cool if you could like..chuck a frag at a body to make it fly away...hehehe

I am guessing it will work like this:

When you get killed, the max number of hitpoints you can get when you are revived will start to drop.

When the max number of hitpoints you can get from being revived drops to 0 you will be forced to respawn.

It seems like armor works like bonus hitpoints instead of reducing the damage done to your hitpoints. When you are revived, I am guessing your armor will still be 0. I assume an engineer can repair a soldiers armor.

I wonder if an engineer can begin repairing your armor before the medic has revived you.

Well I read somewhere, probley the FAQ, that cause of the teen rating, there won't even be blood. Just some kinda of "electrical shock" kinda of fruity thing......
So I guess it would be safe to say that there won't be an gibs.
Although they could just have limbs for when a body blows apart. Or like they have in JK2 when you snipe a body at full charge, you disinerate them .

RtCW is Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and I think I heard somewhere that when you respawn you start with decreased health and no armor... not sure if this is right tho. If it is, then you could blast a revived person away really quick!

eh, I like my name better. Oh yeah, I think in some Dev interview they said that a revived person had low health and armor, but then they could be healed by another medic. So it would take a 2 medic team o effectively revive a squad.
