I see a lot of names that I have no idea who you are. If you have no idea who I am then you probably haven't played in a long time. I would just ask that you include some kind of metric to rate your overall time played in PlanetSide. Things like BR/CR, overall time subbed, OP or even your in-game name/outfit name.
I'll start off with this. I'm best known as DarkFate or DarkFateVS.
I have over 100K kills on my main (that's being conservative after kills stopped tracking)
I'm BR40/CR5 on my main, I have another BR38/CR5 VS, a BR20/CR4 VS, a BR35/CR5 TR, and a BR34/CR4 TR.
I've subbed at release, but didn't play consistently until 2005.
I'm currently a member of Future Crew from Markov VS.

Moved on to many different outfits but currently within the ranks of Vanu Corp.
Still play now and then, but started about 4 months after the game launched. Not quite sure how many kills I got, quite a few i'd recon.

i subbed at release and played very much for a total of about 5-6 years. with pauses.
my only char higher than br10 is NC and i played on werner in the outfit new hope, later with fight club and blue lions.
my main role was support and sabotage.

ZulthusVS BR30/CR5, DARK
Started playing in 07-08, random outfits such as AT, GOTR, some others until I found the small but elite outfit DARK. I unsubbed about a month ago, didn't really care for the low pops anymore, the game wasn't fun. I have somewhere around 30k kills, I'm not a hardcore player like most.

Sorry, but what's the point of this thread? To brag about how many kills you have? To get yourself on the "who's who" of PS? What does this have to do with PS2?

Raymac - Markov NC
Also played as ReMaxx on Johari VS
BR30-something / CR 2 (Yeah I know, just spent more time helping 4.5s get to 5 than on my own CR. It kinda became a source of pride for me because I felt like that Sergeant Major that told you to not call him "sir" because he actually works for a living.)
Played since late May, early June of '03, so Planetside literally taught me how to upgrade my RAM and GPU.
DarkFate and SkyExile, both you guys have killed me more times than I'd care to remember. I bounced around a couple outfits until I joined up with the zergfit, 666th Devil Dogs because I really got a kick out of rolling the MASSIVE raids they did. It felt like "Oh nice little battle you have there. Excuse us as we completely change the tide with all these tanks and planes."
I got bored of the inside battles fairly quickly, so I really spent most of my time in a Reaver and when I wasn't flying rapid response, I was usually helping to take the courtyard, and then once that was secure, I'd fly CAP and fight off any reinforcements that would try to counter.
I still fly the 666th banner when I play now, not because they are active, but just to keep the memory alive. So, if you don't recognize my name, which I doubt anyone does, it's because I was usually up in the air.
EDIT: Sorry, but what's the point of this thread? To brag about how many kills you have? To get yourself on the "who's who" of PS? What does this have to do with PS2?

I was in early beta before the COF fix when the game was all about who could crouch first. Back then people went to empty continents so they could get base capture XP without having to fight for it.
I played at release up until a few months after BFRs. Johari for life. BFR's didn't necessarily ruin the game for me, although they were a large part of the reason I stopped playing.
My computer back then couldn't really handle Planetside so I drove a tank (always a driver, never a gunner) for about 2 years straight. I also sniped, and was pretty damn good at it. Sometimes in big battles I would steal kills so fast that my name would spam as fast as I could reload.

BR20 CR 4.8. I easily could have been CR5 3 times over but I started playing sporadically and stuck to sniping/tanking with my roommate. Extra battle ranks came shortly after I stopped playing.

Probably my most prominent character in PS is the BR27/CR5 AlekseyGV/NC/Emerald toon. If there is a Cyssor in PS2, expect the macro back.
I started playing back in late 2003, shortly before BFRs came out, when a friend of mine finally convinced me to try the game. I was very skeptical of the whole idea, I didn't want to become too much of an addict. I originally started out as a TR, but one night when I was bored, I joined the Emerald NC for an assault against the VS on Searhus. I ended up in a squad led by The Renegades, and had stuck with them since.
The Renegades lasted as an outfit for about a year and a half after that, but eventually, things started dying down, and it was disbanded after most of us migrated over to WoW. I played WoW for about 6 months, getting a toon up to 60, but WoW never delivered the same amount of thrill for me as PS.
Up to today, things had picked up, and what little time I did have left to play games was spent on mostly playing a little bit of everything to try and find that same PS kick, that feeling of teamwork and purpose, in BF2, BF2142 (closest to PS1 imo), BFBC2, TF2, and I'd resubscribed to PS for a few months about a year ago, and I've tried giving WoW another chance after the expansions. But all in all, I just can't fucking wait to lay my hands on PS2. I start behaving like my dog (the way he gets all giggidy when I get home from work and it's time for the daily run at the park) just thinking about it.
On that note, I've heard a lot of mixed opinions about populations in PS1 starting a resurgence since the PS2 announcement. Anyone got any realistic numbers they can throw at me?

Where to start...
Subbed in June 2003 a month after release, I subbed to play with my brother-in-law who was already part of an outfit called (SOL) Navy on TR Konried. I also played his account in beta when he wasn't on. I played off and on, getting to BR20 by early 2004 and CR5 around August of 04. I became the outfit leader of (SOL) Navy after much of the outfit migrated to WoW (I personally hated that game.) After a short stint as outfit leader, I quit to join a TR pilot outfit called Liberty Reborn with Warpath and TheViper (now VenomDT.) I then quit LR to do a trial with Serious Gamers, however one month into my trial I found their playstyle and attitude towards the game not fitting for me at the time. This information became public on the official forums due to a raging former outfit member of LR. Not wanting to partake in anymore "Emerald drama" as I called it, I moved to Markov VS in late January of 2005. Using my SOL Navy alt character named ShockSN (SN = SOL Navy), I joined Future Crew after the outfit leader at the time, Abathur, recruited me.
Shortly after joining Future Crew I began playing non stop, massing kills, outfit points, and respect from within the outfit and around the Markov server. By September of 2005 I rose to the #2 position as LtSmash took over outfit leadership. In charge primarily of recruitment, I recruited many players who would become recognized as FC mainstays and Markov VS legends - including JimiJazz, RELOADS, and Tav. LtSmash, after going through periods of his own inactivity, promoted me to outfit leader in June 2006. Two months later, the infamous outfit wars began. Going on a drive to get all inactive members back and spreading the word, we were able to mass 30+ players per game and won outfit wars on Markov with a perfect 6-0-0 record. After that I participated in various different experiments and periods of recruitment - which include the forming of aeroPhalanx on Emerald, sniping all the top members of Lost Minions (including DarkFate), Tripulacion Futura, The Balance, and many more.
I'm often referred to by people as the PS1 player encyclopedia due to my large amounts of community involvement - specifically on the official forums and markovforums - as well as the large amount of people I've played with and talked to over the years. I've made my mark on or have been involved with almost every "leetfit" classed outfit to grace the game (even with several large outfits, including GOTR, and the ULTRA Alliance). I eagerly await PS2 because I know the community that was so fantastic in PS1 will be present.
Finally, my stats and some of my outfits stats... I suppose since everyone is doing it?
100k+ Kills on all my characters combined (conservative guess.)
Future Crew became the first outfit with under 100 members (never broke 100 in our history) to mass 10 million OPs.
Future Crew was the second outfit to reach 3 million total kills among outfit members (2nd to PCP.)
ShockSN, VS 35/5 - Future Crew OL, 360k OPs ~80k kills
Her0ic, VS 33/5 - The Balance
ShockFC, TR 30/5 - The Overlords, this character was renamed from "Sh0ckDockt0r", my original TR Konried character

2011-12-20, 03:58 PM
I'm best known as Effect/Effective/Gigantor (call me whatever, I don't care really :P) I've poured more then a couple hundred hours into this game probably, I don't even know for sure.
TR - TRxEffect - 40/5 - 24k kills
VS - Effectivexx - 25/3 - 2.5k
NC - TauFX - 18/0 - 1k kills at the most
Other account - Not sure about the total kills off the top of my head, all together it's probably about 40-50k kills on this account
TR - TRxEffective - BR40/5 (had some help with this one though :P)
GIGANTORtr - 26/2
VS - PublicEnemy - 33/5
GIGANTOR89 - 26/3
NC - DeltaFX - 34/5
Effective - 18/1
I've played on and off for a long time since august of 2003. I didn't start playing consistently until right before the markov/emerald merge. I was part of GotR before that happened, and joined the Juggernauts afterwords. I played with several groups of players of the course of that time, and eventually found my way into a somewhat infamous group of players known as TRx (Knights Of The Old Republic). Many good times to be had playing with them as a support role before they split due to some in-house problems. While I'm still technically part of TRx, it's remaining members don't play planetside (and I'm not subbed either), but we don't play the same games at all.

It's actually more along the lines of "What kind of experience do you have with the previous game since you're commenting about the sequel?" I'd like to get a person's background to see why they might be making certain comments. Like someone who hasn't played since '04 and thinks MAX's are fine how they are now, but it's been over 7 years since they've played. Things like that.

BR20 CR3
I got the game shortly after it launched. I wish I had been in for beta, but better luck next time. I messed around solo for a bit, joining random squads. I got recruited into one or two random outfits I think, but nothing was going on with them, so I bailed. Then I played with some guys from The Final Stand, kept playing with them, and then joined the outfit. I had a blast with those guys, and I plan to make some more memories with some of my friends I met there when PS2 goes live.
Real life started creeping in on me more and more though, and I'm sure that the waning populations didn't help. Eventually I just wasn't playing enough that I felt like paying the monthly fee. After that, life kept taking up more time for a while and by the time I started having more free time again, I just drifted more towards non subscription based games.
I haven't played Planetside with any seriousness in a long time. Most of the times I've played in the past several years have been spent messing around outside of battles, starting an alt from scratch, or getting bummed out at the state of the game and leaving again.
I can't really offer a lot of detailed experience on todays PS1 balance issues, but I had my fair share of experience back in the early days. Others are more qualified than me for sure, but I know the basics of what made the game great in it's time.
I've put in a decent amount of time in every role in the game up until BFR's. I've played a fair amount on all three empires. I was never an elite player, but i could fill most roles competently.
I certainly have no place to comment on todays Planetside, but I'm not really interested in todays Planetside. I'm interested in Planetside 2, and making sure that it keeps what was great about the early days of PS1 and avoids it's pitfalls.
I loved Planetside, but to me, it's a game that's been dead for a long time. I don't begrudge anyone who still enjoys it, it's just not the game for me. I hope Planetside 2 will replace that gap for me, and go on filling it for a long time.

Got the game May 20, 2003. When I first logged into planetside, most of the bases were still nuetral, from the opening of the server. I did get to play my friends account at his house for about 10 minutes during the beta, but that was all I played of that. I remember there was no lattice links, you could hack whatever base you wanted, rexo was only 150 armor. The Pounder max was the Anti Infantry max, and at one point the pounder killed a rexo in about 3-4 shots. 2 Decimater Shots killed max suits. Lasher in patch 2.0 was insane, quad shot jh, surgile was so much fun, the game took much more skill back then to go 1v1 surging against each other, then it does now going 2 mph, so easy to hit the enemy. Oh and of course mowing, back then you would see people getting 15+ mowing kills with the magrider, it was a terrible mechanic the first game had. You would sometimes see 20+ kills in a row by a mowing vehicle.
I made the kill leaderboard right before the first server merges on nc Markov as BlueTiger. I made it to 6th on the NC kill leaderboard eventually a while after the first merge, which says a lot because I played quite a few alternate characters. I have around or close to 180k - 200k kills, on all my characters.
I got 860 kills in one day, and logged with 6 hours left till they totalled all the kills for the day, could have gotten around 1100 kills for the day, if I continued, but I was tired and played a TON!.
I was a console gamer before I started playing this game, played it all with about 5 real life friends. The most fun I had with this game though was when me and my real life friend Klnslayer played the game together in 2004/2005, so many funny moments. We both would cert advanced medic and would rez one another whenever the other died in a battle, we would sneak into bases together and wreak havoc, along with our internet friend, caveslayer.
Had 5 total Cr5's. I got my first cr5 in September 2003. I was in Obsol33t Gods/PcP/Legion of the Damned/Metal Milita/Untouchables.
I was in Obsol33t Gods, which was pretty much an all star outfit, insane amount of talented players, we would take red alert bases back with ease and dismantled any outfit that faced us in tod's. I was also in old school PcP which was a ton of fun, toding Ht/FC back when they were the best oufits there were, was a total blast.
Kill Totals:
BlueTiger (NC - Markov) - 67k
Gunuko (NC - Emerald)- 15k
xNeptenx (VS - Emerald)- 15k
DuHastx (TR - Markov) - 20k
Sonicslayer (TR - Emerald) - 10k
StahlHammer (VS)- 10k
Alts - Around 20k-30k

HMR85: Started playing back in 2003. NC 4 life. I am a one faction kind of guy. I have been playing on and off through out the years. As for kills god only knows how many kills I have. I stopped keeping track years ago. In 2006. I was at 30k+. I would imagine by now I'm some where in the 70K if not 80k or better I don't really know.
I do have a few lowbie alts on the other two factions. But I never really got into them. It just felt wrong.
My current Rank is BR32/CR5... I am in the outfit SquadX. Great group of guys and some of the most fun I have had in the game. I love PS and can't wait for PS2.

We even have our own off shoot: NC Spec Ops. We were an elite armor unit with intentions on returning for PS2. We also ran other ops including Libs, Thundys, BangBuses, etc.
I started in late May 2005...about the 2 year Anniversary of Planetside.
We were also the Naum Defense Force on Hossin before the lattice was changed...because no one wanted to take the time to CE that base...WE WANT NAUM BACK IN PS2!!!

Doublexbaugh, NC Emerald (most call me Double or DXB)
Started playing NC on Emerald a few months after launch in Aug 03. Played almost exclusivly NC for a little over a year then went TR and Joined The Overlords. Played TR when they were active, NC when they weren't (most members didn't stay subbed more than a few months before needing a break). Then Made a VS and joined Dark when Werner came over and 3 empires per server was allowed. On NC I was usually solo and most assumed I was just a tower whore (My outfit was just me and a few of my alts and called Team Tower), but in 05 When I went TR and PSS.net was still up. I was 5th NC for base hacks, 4th NC for kills, and 6th NC for Outfit points (would have been 3rd if you include my previous OPs from original outfit). I got around but wasn't a forum whore or in a well known outfit so I was generally under the radar. Finally officially unsubbed in July of 08, but didn't play much in the year before that.

Wasn't in PS beta but got talked into playing by some friends who I used to play tribes and T2 with. Rocked around in their outfit for a while before I joined PCP. Got my main TR char to BR25/CR5, also had multiple TR alts. Played VS with Future Crew for a bit, great group of guys really and also played with Ht for a short while before I signed out for the last time. I amassed about 70-80k kills across all my chars with not much playing time per day. As with any game Planetside got a little boring after a while, people left and the old rivalries just weren't there any more. Best game ever thou imo.

Most people know who I am but for those who dont.
My main character MirrorBOY which has now been renamed to MirrorDT is BR40/CR5 and has around 200 000 kills. I started playing in 2003 but got into the game in 2004. I was in a few outfits before joining Delta Triad in February 2005 and took over as OL in May 2005.
I am co-leader of Delta Triad which was formed in January of 2005, has about 45 members and afaik one of very few outfits not created in 2003 to hit the OP cap. Delta Triad won Outfits Wars on Emerald with a perfect score of 6 wins.
My in game name is SS89Goku. I started playing back in October of 2004. Between my main and my alt Kakorot89 I roughly got to 50K kills. The outfit I was in during my PS career was Freedom Defenders. I managed to become the XO and over the years the outfit had some success. Nothing special, but I really enjoyed running 5+ Vanguards with Sky Guards for support and watch the enemy run away.

So I played for a few years and then played off-and-on some for the years after. I started playing in beta. Played with Black Widow Company, The Enclave, and even CDL very briefly. I don't know how many kills I had. My BR when I quit for good was 23. Only had one character really. My VS/NC alts are probably BR 3 or 4. Just had them for when Emerald would go down or to try out some enemy stuff.

I'm really enjoying reading about everybody's experiences with PS1. Its amazing how much everybody's varies. Never the less they are all really cool. Its also good to see a bunch of old fellow vets that are still around from when the game first started.
I just hope a few years down the road we can all fill this out again for PS2 and it be just as good.

Started playing in December 03. Spent my first couple weeks mastering the art of sniping infantry with a Burster, was easily the best on the server. Began playing VS in January of 04 and got CR5 later that summer. Bounced around several different outfits like the troubled youth I was before finally landing in Delta Triad in Feb of 05. While there I learned how to fight and what it takes to be a man.

I feel like I've typed this before (http://www.planetside-universe.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36185)
I've been playing since Beta, I started out on TR playing on Emerald. I bounced around a few outfits for awhile, then found something of a home with Anarchy 99. In mid-2004 Malign (Dreaded) moved to VS to resolve some intraoutift drama, a few of us moved with him and DARK was born.
In 2006 I was given OL of DARK when Mal left the game, I led the outfit until 09 when I gave it over to OneBadDude; so I could focus on RL issues. Since then I'm still pretty involved in running the outfit, though I am officially 'retired'.
In-game I almost exculsively cloak (although I've been pulling Rexo from time to time, now that it's free for me). I started cloaking early on because it was a way to enjoy the game dispite my terrible FPS. I stayed with it over the years because I really enjoy the 'tactical' undergame involved in out maneuvering an opponent while sneaking around a base. I also enjoy running tactical ops on a larger scale, and sitting in enemy bases gives me time to plan and stratigize while waiting for a room to clear out or a door to open etc... I also consider myself to be a pretty good Galaxy pilot (of the old days when gal pilots were actually considered to have some level of 'skill' as opposed to just having the cert).
I'm pretty active in the VS /c; mostly trying to mitigate the chaos, in order to generate some tactical usefulness in the channel. Although that has become increasingly more futile in recent years...
That last bit about /c has only become truer with time. Oh how I long for the days when Atva was the worst thing VS-Emerald /c had to deal with...
