The final two ingredients to my gaming build are the mouse and keyboard. Currently I'm using the two that came with the PC a year or so ago, a HP mouse and keyboard. Nothing special about them.
Here's what I'm thinking, but could use your input just to make sure these are a good choice.
Saitek Eclipse III Keyboard

And, the R.A.T 5 Mouse.

Opinions? Suggestions?

Rat 5 is an overpriced POS made from cheap ass chinese parts, while the design seems good, it just feels cheap and nasty.
I'v used a dam lot of mouses, afew razors, alot of logitechs. they fail in comparison to the Steelseries Xai. Razor products have seris driver issues, logitech have serious quality issues, Steel series Xai needs 3rd party program to bind keys like X mouse controller, but thats a minor issue.
The mouse does not look fancy and may seem overpriced, but iv had no issues with it and it aims like a dream.
never had a saitek product besides a joystick, which i hardly use, so no comment.

How about this then?
RAZER DeathAdder

It seems to have alot of positive feedback. I like the price point more too.

DeathAdder is much complimented.
I personally have the Razer Imperator, liked the fact it had adjustable side buttons and the size/shape felt about right.
As for playing on the "keyboard side", Belkin n52te/Razer Nostromo ftw :D Wouldn't play any game without it anymore.

Thats my mouse, and i can tell you it feels great. I have no complaints with it whatsoever.
I also use the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate Wired Keyboard. And to be fair its fantastic, although I mistake the m keys sometimes, but that just practice. Oh and its noisy.

I like Razer mice, but they are not the best when it comes to quality (I had a Mamba die on me within 6 months). A lot of people have issues with the mice dying early on. I have the Imperator and LOVE IT, but I recommend getting a third party warranty to cover them.
For mouses I would recommender the DeathAdder, Imperator, and Logitech G500.
I wouldn't even touch Razer keyboards. I have never seen so many complaints as it is with those. I prefer keeping my keyboard simple as I do not think they add much unless you like the back lit keys/macro buttons.
If that is the case I would probably recommend the Logitech G110. I just got this and love it (due to it being an xmas gift). I have two other friends who have it and also love it, no issues thus far. The Satiek should be fine also.

Do you mouse left or right handed? If you need a left-hand mouse, NewEgg allows you to search for that (They are usually ambidextrous).
I don't advise wireless for mouse or keyboard.
My G9 lasted 4 years of constant daily use.

My Logitech MX518 is about 3,5 years old now and still working fine.
The scrollwheel started to act up once but taking it apart and clearing it fixed the issue
I am still unconvinced that mice like the R.A.T.s are actually worth their pricetag

I can't speak for R.A.T. but my 65€ Razer Imperator was worth every cent when I upgraded from my MX518.
Has nothing to do with all the fancy things RAT has though. Just simply a good laser sensor that does the wonder.
MX518 has the best price/performance ratio out of all mice out there, probably. Mine was so frigging worn out cos mine was "Asus-pimped" and had a special coating on it, and the coating start to flake off which was really annoying. Other than that it still functioned perfectly after 2½ years.
That still doesn't change the fact that I still wouldnt go back to a MX518 after my Imperator. It was a good mouse for it's price (I got mine for free, but seeing if one would buy a brand new MX518), but it doesn't compete with "modern expensive gaming mice". It's really about how much are you willing to pay for the luxury :D There's a noticeable difference, but a good player will be good even with a MX518.

I love my G500 and my $12 Logitech keyboard from Walmart. The mouse is pretty solid.

logitech G500 is great, i love it.
Keyboard I have is the Levitron by Azio. Nothing special. the backspace key is smaller which bugs the piss out of me at times, and the little kickstands are off balance so i have to use a coaster so it doesnt wobble when i game.

I recommend:
Logitech g110 gaming keyboard
Logitech g9x gaming mouse
I am using the mouse and will be getting the keyboard shortly. these are truly the best human interface products for a gaming pc that I've found (and I've researched a LOT of them and tried out others). Overall, these are the best imho.

I just use some random cheapo keyboard (ACE KL400, prefer low profile keys cos I used laptops so long).
Since I do my gaming on an n52te, no need for that good of a keyboard.

I love my G700 mouse. So many buttons, and works great in both wireless and wired mode.
I still play with a keyboard from 1998 (no kidding!). I'm a pretty hard core gamer, but never seen the need for an expensive keyboard. I do fine with a $5 model.
