View Full Version : Fun Speculation About Your Favorite Class!

I agree with IDukeNukem: since there's been a slight lull in the FANTASTIC, CONSTANT stream of new info our Devs usually give us (sit back and enjoy your holidays, guys!) now is the time for us to lock ourselves in a crowded room and chatter excitedly over things about which we know NOTHING. w00000!

With that said, I'm actually hoping that this thread stays quasi-serious (though energetic).

What is your favorite class? And what are some things you're wondering that class might contain? Hey, maybe we'll get lucky and a Dev will pop in and confirm/deny one of our random musings.

I will start.

It is seriously no surprise to any of you by now that I love the tactical-explosives side of things. I'm not talking grenades, I'm talking BOMBS. Anti-personnel, remote-detonated high-explosives, anti-tank mines. So, as I bounce around excitedly, wondering what toys SOE will give my demolitions-focused Vanu Engineer, a few thoughts occurred to me recently:

I wonder if Engineers will get remote-controlled vehicle-bombs, such as the one used by the CIA agent in Bad Boys II (that movie was oddly enjoyable) or the one showcased in Call of Duty (Black Ops, is it? I've only played Modern Warfares 1 and 2). But UAV and ULV bombs would be very interesting!

Also, I wonder if there will be some explosives that are significantly more powerful than a standard Boomer, but have additional limitations, such as a 30-second deploy time (ie, the technician needs to sit there and wire the bomb with some simple animation, etc).

To add more thoughts to the mix, I know that one of my brothers who'll be joining me wants to go 100% MAX-pilot, and he wants to focus on melee if he can (anti-vehicle or anti-infantry melee or both). And he is REALLY hoping the Vanu MAX's get some kind of energy-saber.

How about everyone else; thoughts?

I'm hoping for and expecting a pretty deep construction support engineer role (which I'm rather confident in). I was pretty happy when they introduced the ability to upgrade wall turrets and build deployable field turrets and shield generators in PS1, although I think the wall turrets were a little underpowered and the field turrets were just useless altogether.

With all the terrain and bases we've seen so far, I think it'll be pretty improtant to have engineers on hand to stage Spara-like chokepoints or Alamo-style base holdouts. That and I can't wait to see those magriders explode over my minefields.

Deep into the Gal Cert tree the ability to side grade to a 155MM Howitzer style weapon in one of the support or cargo capacity slot(s). I really hope the driving force for customization is in the Cert trees and not in the Cash Shop.
