My heart belongs to the NC, but it really depends where my clan wants to go. In a preliminary poll NC was leading big time, but back then we had like nothing visual about the VS yet, so I pretty much need to redo the poll when we have equally much stuff about all factions and the remaining stuff (some weapons, MAX units, HA..).

That said, I'm not really liking the extremely worn out gear of NC, even to the point where I would consider hopping over to TR. VS is a big no no, I can't stand the weaponry.

I never saw issues with the population balance overall. It fluctuated like anything else but overall it's one of the most solid balances of population I've seen.

I think the thing about PlanetSide's factions is they're so perfectly designed and equally balanced in terms of appeal that the only real choice that a person makes when choosing one is their taste. NC typifies the whole "good guy, rebellion" thing like the Rebels in Star Wars, which is popular for those who like to think they're the good guys. TR typifies the whole "galactic empire, evil but-good-depending-on-your-perspective" thing that has the following of people who look at it as badass, while the VS is appealing due to all its funky technology and alien art style, which is also very popular - the whole alienware computer designs and the covenant.

I hope the TR have a zerg in PS2. Fantastic source of kills for the hardcore NC ;)

TR forever! I was skeptical before because they were dictators and I am a Libertarian IRL, but the Terran Republic apparently made a utopia on Earth, and although I'd have to live there first to be sure, it's a nice ideal to uphold that I can get behind.

NC = nicest looks
TR = weapon style. Fast weapon
VS = best gameplay style. Max jets, hoving over water, fast swap ammo modes

To be honest, a lot of the vs stuff so far looks so much better than in ps1. Way more high tech and less fruity lol. Plus as they are now, I think the gauss looks the best of the rifles.

I've always found that amazingly cool how dispite the fairly significant differences between the empires in both style and weaponry, the populations more or less even out.

Likewise - every time I have created a poll on the subject it has amazed me. You have to hand it to the original designers of the Empires in PlanetSide back in the late 90's early 2000's.

Forum polls never come out even because equal numbers don't post or read every thread.

I should do one on Facebook as well and see how that comes out.

TR for me.

I have a 25 NC and a 29 VS but I have serveral TR over 25 across 3 accounts with the highest being BR34. For the first 4 years of the game I only had TR characters on Werner, Markov and Emerald. I enjoyed playing VS and NC sometimes for a change on other servers. But ever since we went down to one server I've only played TR.

I'm not a fan of empire hoppers. It grinds my gears when I see people playing their TR character and then turning up with their NC/VS CR5's a bit later and firing off an OS on the people they were just playing alongside. I'm sure it happens to all Empires of course.

Terran Republic is my home and when PS2 beta starts that's where I will be.
