My current write up on objectives from my tactics site. Is there anything that I have missed from this section, or anything that's incorrect?

On the battlefield there are multiple objectives that will need to be both captured and held.

Territory

Territory is separated into hexes that can be captured.

It has been said by the developers of PS2 that:

All territory can be captured at any time
Capture time reductions are given based on adjacent friendly territory.
An enemy territory surrounded by enemy territory may take up 30 minutes to capture
An enemy territory surrounded by friendly territory may take as little time as 30 seconds to capture
Facilities and outposts (and presumably bunkers) will increase that territories capture time.
Facilities will span 6-7 hexes
Multiple hacks in the same territory will speed up the capture process (unknown if this is at the same or different control consoles)

Facilities

These are set to be much larger than in the original game and appear to have shields protecting separate section of the base. They also have more outbuildings that will allow for a more urban combat experience. Known facility types are the Tech Plant (Galaxies will spawn here), Bio Lab and Amp Station.
So far we know that bases have the following strategic points that can be captured or destroyed:

Spawn Control Unit (SCU) - perhaps multiple per base, could disable spawn rooms without having to enter them and "spawn camp".
Gate Shield Generator - assume that there is one per gate.
Control Console - presumably similar to PS1, must be hacked to start the facility capture process

I assume that facilities will also have:

Courtyard Shield Generator - for separate sections of the courtyard to protect the defenders
Main Base Generator - in PS1 this was the pivotal component to the base as without it there was no hope for defenders. However with the above separate generators there may not be a main one.

Outposts

Outposts seem to be replacing PS1 towers and as with the original there are different types, Air Towers and the one seen in the first trailer at least. Outposts may also have vehicle terminals on them according to the developers.

Bunkers

Little is known about these, although it is presumed that they will need to be controlled to capture the territory it is in, and may have act as a spawn point.

Resources

Resources are set to be of high importance in Planetside 2, allowing players to purchase specialised equipment and advance their characters. It will not only be important to have resources, but also to deny them to the enemy.

Looks up to date with all the info we have :)

List looks good. I was glad that Higby gave some more details on territory and resources.

Do we know if conjoined hexes will work similar to the lattice in any way? Transferring benefits and such (other than increased capture time for the enemy)?

There has been nothing on any kind of benefits to transfer that I know of, so no.

I have not heard any mention of it. But my guess and this is just me speculating is that it would be somewhat similar to lattice in PS1. In that If you have captured a base down south and have no link to it you will not receive said benny at any of the other bases. However, the moment you link the adjoining territory's to it you will.

Now with this new resource option built into the game. I could see it as being somewhat the same. So say I capture a territory that gives me auraxium or w/e but is behind enemy lines. I'll still get some resources but at a reduced rate. But when I finally link that hex to my territory it will be back up to 100%. Just a guess.

Yeah I presume that resources will only flow into the empires coffers if you have a link through to them.

If you are in a captured territory then I would imagine you get any resources that its connected to.

From what I understand there will be both towers and outposts. I'll try to find a link to conform this.

Very informative.

Being new to PS, I'm still confused about resources though, how do you get them? How are they shared in joint operations among many outfits?

My guess on how we are going to acquire resources is that it will be based on Conquest of territory and kills. So for every dirty TR and VS I kill I will receive lets say 40 auraxium. Now it will be a small amount of resources but it will be something that I can use for myself to acquire upgrades and vehicles.

Now for Every territory we take or Facility captured it will be 1000 to 2000 resources instantaneously as soon as we take the area. The Resource amount will be depending on how long the fight lasted and how big it was. This is just a guess but I figure I am not to far off.

Now as we hold said territory's will slowly get a trickle of resources into the main coffer for the empire. If we hold land that is not contested and is linked in our territory will receive our max resource amount of 100% lets say. If we hold land that is not linked to our territory will receive lets say 50% of what we should be getting. This is all speculation ofc.

Resources like we will have in PS2 are new to all of us. In PS1 the only resource was nanites. They were used to power the bases. You would drive a vehicle called an ANT (Advanced Nanite Transport) to a warpgate and deploy it to soak up nanites, then drive back to a base and fill up its nanite silo. PS2 resources are completely different.

We know very little on resources atm. We know there will be resource nodes that spawn in different territories, randomly, and that to collect that resource your empire just needs to own that territory (no mining or refining required, not a full RPG). How the resource is gained and the rate at which its gained is unknown, and probably not even set yet. There may also be other ways to gain resources. Getting kills, capturing bases, they have even said before you might be able to salvage some from a destroyed vehicle, but nothing confirmed yet.
