I thought I'd congratulate the guys who worked on the PS2 website because I find that it looks really good while also staying in line with the PS1 menu designs.
Just sayin'...
It's only a website but it does look good.

aye its pretty snazzy. they need to add an vehicle and weapons section and make an forum link to PSU, also they should add more screenshots to the site since well...there are more than 12 shots and especially more up to date but im sure they'll add as they go along :groovy:
The lack of a forum link is an important observation.
Don't most SOE games these days have their own, official forums? I wonder if they are purposely trying not to compete with PSU.

if their not then add an link to here like i said. they might as well since most info for the game is here.
I doubt SOE would let them brand this as their official forum, though that would be nice.
I love PSU but I'd like to see more guild recruiting/rivalry going on here. That's usually why I come to forums. Unfortunately fan forums are rarely a popular outlet for that, maybe as launch gets nearer it will pick up.
Murder Herd will have it's outfit thread up soon, almost done with the graphics.

I think they will eventually have an official forum. PSU is just a really good way to help them interact with the established community.
But they will need their own simply because the community will be much larger after launch and they will have their own staff to manage/moderate all of that.
Plus I honestly wouldn't want to see these forums get too crowded
Official forums will arrive @ beta.

The pics on the PS2 SOE website are official. We have more pics here at PSU because Higby is the man and shares unofficial pics with us.

I see these forums becoming the Team Liquid of Planetside.

Unfortunately there will be official forums eventually - especially during beta.
I see these forums becoming the Team Liquid of Planetside.
What does this mean? :p

Unfortunately
Ehh, no.
Let the fools go to the official forums, it has been like that for all eternity. The awesome crowd, including the devs, keeps chilling here.

There are still more things being added to the website and yes forums are one of those things. Those won't be available externally for some time (unless you participate in beta) but we absolutely plan to have them.

So Beta will be starting before "some time" from now? Outstanding!
I know that nobody can say anything about a Beta date, but is there at least a timeline set for the...official beta forums? *cough*
At any rate, I'm glad that the forums are being made over, the old official forums were never anything special. I hope that there is still developer interaction here and possibly a section of the eventually public forums that would link to PSU as the #1 Planetside Fansite. Beta Participants/Veterans should also have a way to be recognized publicly on the official forums after the game is released, Merits, post count preserved from the Beta forums, etc. :groovy:

I think SOE management would give them a hard time on that front, getting it on the webpage and recognizing a fan-site, but that would be sweet ^^
BTW Radar I don't think i've ever seen a game spoil their community as badly as you, danicia and the dev team do, you guys rock.

there is still an important aspect of the game missing in the overview!
check the last interview matt gave (before the agn) and include his clarifications on the ps2 site, where he talks about the difference between actual fps shooters with scripted warfare-scenes and planetside, that has those awesome scenes as well, but totally without scripts and without ai bots.
so whenever you hide in a bunker and see a fleet of your sides aircrafts dashing in overhead to save the day in the last second, everything happens because players decided to make it happen, not because a script tells the game what should happen in what situation.
