(other thread was moved)
Anyoen else upset by this design choice? seems a little bit awkward to me. How hard would it be to make them a few inches shorter, not like that would affect balance much

Why does this even matter.

This is a huge game breaker! That's why it matters!

You know, there was a reason that the first thread was moved. That means don't make another one in the exact same spot.

I'd guess it's for a combination of easier silhouette recognition some kind of technical reason. Maybe it makes it easier to retexture them or something, I dunno. But giving them similar models in a game where there's supposed to be a fair bit of player customization would make things easier, right? I genuinely don't know as I have never done 3D modeling/texture work.

I feel my rights for getting thread creation will get removed, then i see this.

I am safe.

Edit: Just sayin'.
This is actually true

I, for one, agree with this. Female characters should be smaller and have less strength than males characters.

Female characters should have to skill up on dishes before being allowed to leave the kitchen behind the spawn room.

Female characters should have to train offline for 2 and a half years before being qualified to drive ANYTHING in this game.

I'm not a chauvanist though, I support womens suffrage. Scratch that, I enjoy it. So, in any type of in game vote, female character votes will count as 3/5ths of a normal vote.

Male Characters should still have the option to sell female characters for a "dowery bonus" to collect a small amount of resources.

I would also like to see female characters forced to walk three feet behind any male squadmates.

Cash Store burkas are a must.

Not tall enough IMO

Well, if this bothers you so much, why not have the males be made shorter to be equal to more petite women? I mean, even in the RL army not everybody is a 2 meter NBA pro.

Well then, the RL army is WRONG.

All Terran Republic females are required to be 6 foot 2, love weapons and able to crush worthless corperate scum between their well muscled thighs!

Just because they are big and strong dosn't mean they arn't just as slutty as all the men.

Does Nanite Systems make appliances? Female characters should focus their certs/training on those

;)

I prefer women to be about that size, really. Well, IRL that is :)

In all honesty though, males and females should be about the same size for game balance ^^

Hit boxes are obviously going to scale with real models so ideally you want approximately equal height females, I think it's good we're even getting females at all, loads of games today don't offer female characters.

If you make them smaller than the male chars they are harder to hit...... its marginal but its there.

Lets not have another female warp exploit.

Oh yes, god forbid women are as tall as men are.

Then men might not feel superior enough and that's bad.

Was this actually a problem in Planetside 1? I never noticed if it was.

Sadly yes, the female agile in planetside makes it easier to induce warping.

Even with this fixed in the next game a smaller target is still smaller and thus harder to track and hit. Play UT or quake to see my point.

Mostly because PS hitbox was like:

:cry::cry::cry:
:cry::cry::cry:
:cry::cry::cry:

independently of what's inside the square. The new hitbox is going to count headshots, handshots, legshots, groinshots, etc.

Well, with ironsights in the game, this won't be much of an issue.

+1 to dowery

You know, there was a reason that the first thread was moved. That means don't make another one in the exact same spot.

Take this mans advice.

The other thread was moved for the same reason this one will be locked. It's off topic and makes no sense for PS2 discussion. If the moderators decide a thread should be moved or locked it's generally inadvisable to create a duplicate.
